I don't care about the synergies. I'm rooting for this so I can see a Tesla ad filmed on the actual moon.

Many years ago managing partner loops me into call with him and the Associate below me to go over cash flow forecast and debt amendment (we were blowing thru covenants) while I was about six cocktails deep after skiing in Breckenridge. Was a rough one...tbf was on a defined vacation but didn't matter 🫪.

Today we’re launching markets on Business Sector KPI’s. Kalshi originally launched KPI markets to provide investors with direct exposure to the underlying events that move stocks. If you had a thesis on Tesla’s Q4 car deliveries, instead of just buying or shorting the stock as a proxy, these markets enabled you to trade directly on the number of deliveries. But what if your thesis isn't about a single company, but rather a broader, sector-wide trend? If you are bullish on the adoption of robotics, delivery apps, or content streaming, you could buy a basket (ETF) of individual stocks in each sector, but in doing so, you become exposed to the external variables that influence stock prices. Our new Sector KPI markets enable users to trade on aggregated performance. For example, if you have a view on the mobile adoption of AI, you can now trade on the combined monthly downloads for Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Grok. We have KPI markets for aggregated credit card spend, point of sale data, and foot traffic, with more to come. These markets offer a new way to express an opinion and, of course, hedge risk.

Wall Street spent decades building ways for big corporations to hedge risk. Prediction markets bring that power to small businesses. From restaurants to farmers to tourist towns, suddenly you can insure against events no insurance company would touch.

My dad is a psychopath. In the McDonalds drive through, the lady asked him if he could pull the car forward to wait in a parking spot because the food isn’t ready. He said “no.” ?? lmao

Only 10 oysters deep and suddenly I’m confident I would have prevented 9/11 if I was on the plane. It really is just like chasing inspiration with a club. Hemingway was right.

This is not performative. I feel a certain way about oysters… A way that can only be described through experience. Any other stupid questions?

Farming was considered the most respectable profession in ancient Rome (owning land, self reliance). Actors were considered unworthy of respect (seek approval from the crowd). In 21st century America, it's the other way around.

Finance in general is increasingly becoming oversaturated. If you are in college I recommend doing something else. Ideally something nobody is talking about.
Finance recruiting has gotten absurd. Freshmen are networking and prepping for junior year IB internships. Many PE firms recruit analysts as soon as they start in banking. It makes sense for the firms, but definitely attracts more weirdos.

> French govt spending is 57% of GDP Yeah it’s over lmao
If I understand correctly: -French govt spending is already 57% of GDP -Despite this, students are protesting underfunded schools with poor conditions -They're also in a huge debt crisis -Yet both Melenchon and Le Pen are campaigning on expensive new policies Is France cooked?
