I facilitated 6 PD sessions in DFW this week and am now putting the final touches on a week of virtual ones starting Monday. I'm thankful for virtual, but nothing beats meeting 800 other teachers who get it - an your jokes ;)

I got the chance to meet the lady @NoFlashCards. No longer nervous or afraid of STEM. Had the chance to have a conversation with her. We should have taken a picture together. #NoFlashCards #N4F23 #RISDprek

Sue Johanson, the blunt, bawdy and beloved Canadian sex educator and host of the long-running television call-in program “Sunday Night Sex Show” and its American counterpart, “Talk Sex With Sue Johanson,” died on June 28. She was 92. nytimes.com/2023/07/07/healt…
I’m facilitating a lot of PD this summer -as I reviewed the updated research on each topic this month I am reminded why I stress ate candy so much in grad school. So much in education comes down to SES - we know this we’ve known it and yet we do crap about it. Pass the skittles.

Happy Pride 🏳️🌈 here is my annual Pride Booklist for Kids - it's updated for 2023 with some wonderful new titles. notimeforflashcards.com/2023…
Yesterday for the last day of PreK I read my favorite book - Where The Wild Things Are. My students were captivated-which is near impossible on the last day of preschool- not just because that book is rad, but because I read it marvelously. ( 1/2)
Oh, it's that time of year again... hi Imposter syndrome did you do something new with your hair, it looks nice.
I recently started taking ballet again. So many people have said “oh you look like a ballerina.” Which is because I’m petite and slim now… but when I was dancing as a child I was “too fat” and my tummy was criticized.
Psst! If you do ballet you look like a ballerina.
I finally understand my mom’s excitement at Clinique Bonus time - the only time I buy my $ serum is when @Biossance has awesome bonuses. I’ll never have to buy travel size skincare again.
My 11th annual Pride Booklist for kids will be out soon and better than ever- here is the list from last year. notimeforflashcards.com/2022…
