i'm constantly angry at what i see and what gets attention and how manipulated it is and how it operates
hollywood dickheads took over and ruined the culture, everyone chasing shitty pfp projects, most of the good collectors left (the onese who didn't need constant validation and praise, and who aren't secretly connected to the projects they claim to organically favor)
like fuck this place man
the only saving grace is the large number of intelligent and interesting people, mostly artists who are struggling in this idiot cacophony as attention goes to bullshit instead
the history that has been written down about it is fake and favors the commercial projects
most of the shit coming out might as well be mattel and walmart, big box branded bullshit
the giant swarms of connected bullshit accounts propping up the same projects and faking popularity so the same few extractors can dump their bags over and over again
all the constant dicksucking and fake niceties, all the seal clapping and lemming behavior
people out in the world, i say cryptoart, and they're like "do you mean NFT's?" with a rightfully earned hatred and disdain and i'm like no, not the stupid monkey pics
i don't want to quit this space but i'm noticing how annoyed and angry i am constantly about what could have been and the toilet it has turned into, like a toxic relationship that you don't realize until you've been away from it for any amount of time
is the spirit gone? am i chasing ghosts?
