Imagine pitching an article to a magazine in 2026. It's about dating and trying to find a partner, your struggles with the opposite sex etc.
Editor: "great, women will love to read it!"
You: "actually, I'm a man..."
Editor: "Ick. Sorry, we don't do manosphere content here."
This seems fair enough imo. People must just blatantly take the piss with this stuff.
And why on earth would you bring a random guitar to be autographed? That's like turning up at an author's book signing and presenting a different author's book for them to sign.
"If you don't speak English, you need to find a different community"
Wow, I didn't know the open source community was this based!
The r/OpenSource subreddit has officially banned anything using AI. In any way. Violators will be permanently banned.
Which means… r/OpenSource will ban anyone submitting anything that, in any way, involves… the Linux kernel.

So you can leave the stadium mid-game to go on side quests, do missions for shady guys and steal cars? I'm in
EA confirms they are developing an Open World football game and seemingly separate from Madden and College Football.

This gets me more than the usual AI slop because this is a business that prepares and sells food. You can just take pictures of the food and put them in the menu. Why generate these horrible unappetising, grotesque AI versions?

AI is good. AI, please tell the haters why you are so good while I ignore all replies and get blind drunk. Also, make NO mistakes. BTW did I tell you one of the good things about AI is that it makes no mistakes? Thank you

@grok I'm going to the gym, reply to the AI haters as to why AI has justified use cases, especially in software/data engineering. Make no mistakes. Thank you
Apart from the "have to" part, this doesn't sound so unreasonable to me?
I've given plenty of girls "a chance" and if you actually want to be in the dating game, sometimes you just have to play with the cards you're dealt.
There is of course no obligation to go out with anyone.
Never ceases to amaze me how few paid days off Americans get. If you only get 12 paid days of leave you are a literal wage slave so you may as well fake an illness (or death) to play your computer games.
I'm about to upset every grown man with a gaming setup...
If you're pushing 30, carrying a mortgage, working 9-5, and you're already planning to burn a vacation day because GTA 6 drops...
You get what, 12-15 real days off a year to actually leave your city, see something new, live an actual life outside four walls...
And you're spending one of those days stealing virtual cars and running from fake cops instead.
But hey, it's your PTO. Spend it how you want.
Where do you draw the line here?
However you try to spin it, Elstree is not in London.
If you're going down that road, GWR Reading to Paddington is only 25 minutes, and that journey costs £35.10 for an anytime single.
Thameslink is comiting railway robbery, Elstree to Kings Cross is only a 29 minute commute and has big opportunity for housing development, yet it's stuck behind a paywall of £8.50 for one journey
@MayorofLondon get Thameslink under TfL to give young people the chance of homes
Fantastic. My favourite artists are Pulp, Abba, Boney M, The Grateful Dead, Frank Zappa and The Shaggs so what I really want is one AI-generated song that sounds like all of these artists combined.
AI generated music is 1000x better than real music.
Today I canceled Spotify and SiriusXM because I finally tested Suno.
What sold me was the first prompt I gave it:
“My favorite artists are A Day to Remember, Bring Me The Horizon, Spiritbox, Bad Omens, and Sleep Token.
Analyze all their hits and generate a song I’m likely to love based on those artists.”
It one shots an absolute banger in 10 seconds.
I'll link the song in the next tweet for anyone curious.
Why would I ever go back to Spotify/SiriusXM when I can generate music perfectly tailored to my taste on command, for free?
Not affiliated with Suno in any way btw, it was just one of those moments where I was so impressed with AI’s capability I had to say something about it.
TL;DR everyone on the plane stood up and clapped, the mother died immediately of shame, and the kid grew up to be Albert Einstein
Last Friday, I paid $200 to choose a window seat on a five-hour flight.
I’d finished six straight days of work. My plan was to lean against the wall, fall asleep, and briefly become nobody’s problem.
Then a woman sat beside me with her son.
Before she’d even fastened her seat belt, she tapped my arm.
“My son wants the window. You can take his seat.”
I told her I’d paid to sit there.
She smiled as though I’d misunderstood.
“Yes, but he’s a child.”
He looked about eight.
I said I was keeping my seat.
Her smile disappeared. She leaned across me to point something out through the window, then told her son, loudly, that some people found it difficult to be kind.
He stared at his knees.
When a flight attendant passed, she stopped her.
I expected another request to swap.
Instead, she pointed at me.
“This man won’t get out of my son’s seat.”

Every 6 months you see a fresh wave of folks telling you AI has advanced to such an incredible point there is no ability to not use it. People trying to selling you AI "if you don't use AI you will be left behind". And yet, still no worthwhile AI product exists. Interesting 🤔
The identity politics shit is bad enough without people blatantly making up crap like this.
If a letter like this had been sent out by the school we'd have seen it posted all over social media. I do not believe this is an event that actually happened.
There's been a bunch of stuff said about this, but all I will say is that entryism is more of a problem than gatekeeping in certain hobbies. People who don't have a clue about the hobby wanting to take over the space and talk about their own inane shit instead.
Recently attended an in-person handheld game console hackathon. I wrote a raycaster by hand. Someone wearing a “I ❤️ slop” tshirt saw mine and said “oh I wrote a ray caster too!”. They showed me. It was a ray *tracer* and claude did all the work. The person didn’t know basic graphics terms. They couldn’t answer basic questions about how it worked, could only talk about their prompting harness. Sad how AI is ruining the craft and community for people that actually like to program and have spent their lives getting good at it.

Calling people far-right nutters for predicting today's reality decades ago was plausible and very effective.
Calling people far-right nutters while standing in front of the very outcomes they predicted isn't sustainable though.

Every few years the bendy bus rears its head again as the answer to all transport problems.
