On this day in 2008, Stuart Dew delivered one of the great Grand Final cameos. Retired since 2006, hadn't played a game in 2007, came back through the draft and kicked 2 goals in a decisive 3QT burst to win Hawthorn the flag. He'd been mentoring Brisbane's forwards for the past couple years. Yesterday, game on the line against Fremantle, Logan Morris kicked the goal to put them in front with a minute left, then kicked the sealer.
