The mind shift of a promised lollipop at the end needs to be studied by the world's top scientists.

You don't need to understand anything if the strategy is simply deploy capital and pray :-)
Hey - bummed to read your message. Folks are out there, they care, and there are tons of resources just a google away wherever you are.

the case for fully autonomous fighter jets
Matthew George retweeted
More than any time in my career, VCs seem to be underwriting other investors’ interest rather than the company itself.
We believe that approach can deliver vehicle, flight, and mission autonomy across the programs under that umbrella. This platform is how we start proving it for tactical flight.
Tactical autonomy has $50B+ in the FY27budget request. We’re early, but expanding from a solid base of development and contracts. The C-130J is a funded, large-aircraft application of the Merlin pilot that is designed to be modular and expandable.
The goal is to extend the same pilot from a large transport toward tactical missions. Think collaborative combat aircraft, smarter munitions, and other uses and customer cases we’ll discuss in the future.
At Merlin, we’re building a pilot that is aircraft and mission agnostic. It is the core of everything we’re flying today, and the foundation of our work on the C-130J program with the U.S. Air Force. Now we’re adding a high-performance tactical jet to the mix to begin expanding the envelope that the Merlin pilot is able to address.
The U.S. has not yet solved autonomous fighter aircraft. We have remotely piloted aircraft. We have wingmen for human pilots. We do not have a jet that can fly alone, avoid weather, handle emergencies, talk to ATC, and finish its mission without necessitating high degrees of human involvement.
The Aero L-39C Albatros is the newest addition to Merlin's test fleet. Here's why we chose this aircraft 👇
Meet the newest addition to Merlin’s test fleet: the Aero L-39C Albatros.
Serving as our dedicated jet testbed, the L-39 will support development of Merlin Pilot for tactical aircraft and dynamic military missions with its higher speeds, a wider operating envelope, and compressed decision windows.

So at some point the models are going to get so good that they can generate things like this, no?
