So @notionhq is releasing charts later today!
A core feature of Notion Addon that I thought of nearly 2 years ago & released just last week.
What does this mean for my product?
The good, the bad, the truth...

I mention Feather as I recall @tibo_maker & @pbteja1998's posts a few weeks ago right when Notion launched Notion Sites. My case is different, as I've built several great features into the Notion Addon. I also can never be against my favorite tool improving as much as it can!
Addon charts are publicly shareable and look great on mobile or in @feather_blogs
Notion native charts are not publicly shareable (yet)
Win = Addon
Notion's native charts are a view type & support filtering. I had to build a custom filtering component from the ground up & test it for 3 months. But I'm proud to say Notion Addon is the only 3rd party tool with this full-featured filter. We support "relative to today" too!
Tie
I've built support for all possible calculations into the Addon. Sum, Count, Min, Max, and Average.
Has Notion done the same?
Someone weigh in here, please.
Winner = Unknown
Notion has a group by option.
In my Addon, I called it Split By.
A tie - but kudos to me for thinking along the right lines.
Notion released Bar, Line, and Pie charts.
I went with 4
Replaced Pie charts with a custom % type chart that's considered the new best practice in data visualization. (According to Polaris/Shopify)
Added a card-type chart that just displays a single calculation.
Win = Addon
No 3rd party product can compete with a feature built by the platform itself.
Notion charts load right away whereas my Addon fetches data via Notion's API first.
A very (very) large database can take 15+ seconds to load on my side - but Notion loads them instantly.
Win = Notion
