What is the real value of a professional network if people cannot ask for help and others are unwilling to offer it?
I have been thinking about the quiet generosity that makes professional networks truly valuable.
Sometimes, people take a moment to answer a question, make an introduction, share an opportunity, offer advice, or point someone in the right direction — without expecting anything in return.
That matters more than we often acknowledge.
I have experienced this many times through my broader professional networks because I simply asked for help.
I have benefited from people I have known for years, people I only recently met, and even people I have never met in person.
Whenever I can, I try to reciprocate by helping others, making introductions, or recommending suitable people within my own network.
Today, I want to give special gratitude to Hillary Ainomugisha @aino_lara , an old friend from our @Rotary International and @Makerere University days, who currently works in New York, and Joshua Musonera, @NtaleJoshua, a new friend living in Massachusetts, whom I met only a few months ago, alongside their respective gangs in New Jersey and Boston.
What stands out about these two gentlemen is that they exemplify true friendship par excellence, not only in how they have shown up for me, but also in how they consistently support people across their local and international networks.
This is my dream for the network I am building here:
A growing community of more than 15,000 professionals who not only follow each other's work but also help each other grow synergistically, from Canberra to Tokyo, from Kigali to New York, from Lusaka to London, and everywhere in between.
Professional networks are not built only on titles, visibility, or personal branding.
They are built by people who make the effort to help others move forward.
Many people need help but struggle to ask because they fear appearing vulnerable, or unprepared.
But asking for help is not a weakness.
Sometimes, it is the most courageous & practical thing to do.
Let us be strong enough to ask for help when we need it, but also generous enough to extend opportunities to others who may need them but are unaware, hesitant, or afraid to ask.
Sometimes, meaningful help does not require much: a response, a referral, an introduction, a suggestion, or a word of encouragement, yet it can open an important door for someone.
The best professional networks are built not only by people who seek support with humility, but also by those who notice potential & choose to help others move forward.
To everyone who responds, guides, connects, encourages, and helps me & others without making it feel like a transaction, thank you.
You make professional communities stronger, more human, more global, & more useful.
As Denzel Washington would say, fall down seven times, get up eight.
Keep working. Keep striving. Keep moving. Keep growing. Keep learning
See you at work.

Rest Easy big bro 🙏🏾
Till we meet again big bro ❤️
A society so degenerate that we have to watch as a young man’s innocence is clogged, stabbed, beaten and taken away from a country that adored and praised his talents. A humble giant that chose not to fight back because of what he believed in
He will forever be in our hearts ❤️
My condolences to the @piratesrugbyUG family. Lost a gem 💔. Rest In Power Sydney 🙏🏾
