INS Sudarshini is in Alexandria on the way home from Lokayan-26. Eight months out from home port. Tarangini & Sudarshini are IMHO the most *beautiful* ships in our navy. Is sail training outdated?
Lokayan-26 left Kochi on 20 January: a 10-month long trans-oceanic expedition under sail. About 22,000 nautical miles, 18 ports, 13 countries. Over 200 Navy & Coast Guard trainees.
A sail training ship, not a frigate on a “presence” deployment.
Easy to call this anachronism. It is not.
You can teach missiles, Combat Management Systems, radar and ECDIS in a classroom. You cannot teach a young officer what a ship does when the wind picks up, the deck is wet & the plan is at the mercy of a rough sea. Sail training compresses that lesson: weather, fatigue, small-team leadership and the ‘unfashionable’ skill of looking at the sea instead of a screen. Sail training builds character.
We will keep building missiles & combat systems. We will also keep sending cadets to sea under sails. Officers who have only ever known a ‘climate-controlled bridge’ are not better officers…just drier ones.
Fair winds and following seas for the last miles home…

“Every leader begins with a voice waiting to be heard” ✨
Today, cadets at the Indian Naval Academy attended “From Shyness to Being a Superhero”🎙️ — an inspiring Story Telling Workshop by Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena AVSM, NM, FOC-in-C Southern Naval Command.
A thoughtful initiative personally envisioned by him, reflecting the belief that leadership is not only built through training and achievement, but also through the confidence to communicate, connect and inspire. The session encouraged cadets to find their voice, embrace their journey and realise that every individual has the potential to become the hero of their own story 🌟

As a graduate of the @indiannavy @IN_NDSchool, I’m delighted that #Kenya’s CDF General Charles Kahariri trained there too. #Education builds bridges — I’m sure he’d be thrilled by the school’s remarkable progress since our days!
A powerful endorsement of the value of Indian military training 🇮🇳🤝🇰🇪
General Charles Kahariri, Chief of Defence Forces of Kenya, reflects on his training at Indian Navy's Navigation and Direction School, Kochi, in 1993, describing it as a world-class learning experience that contributed significantly to his growth as an officer.
India and Kenya's defence partnership continues to be strengthened through decades of training exchanges, professional cooperation and enduring people-to-people ties.

🚨 #Fakenews #Pakistani handles. This fabricated story is baseless propaganda. Zero connection to me. This is classic ISI-style #cognitive #warfare — manufactured sleaze, filth on social media to try to divide us.They can’t face us at sea, so they try on social media. #LOL!
Pravna Saxena son of Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena was handed over to the UK police by Paedophile hunters while waiting for a 14 year girl in a hotel room, he even begged the child to pay for the hotel and lend him £150.
If a senior officer struggles to address challenges within his own family, some may wonder how he can inspire the complete naval force.
Pure comic! Pakistanis being xenophobic about the English language, despite the fact that their country ‘Pakistan’ itself, is an imperial British Baby!
Brilliant initiative @IN_Venduruthy! In life each of us will be a reflection of the books that we read, the friends that we keep and the places that we travel to. More power to friends at Dharambir Enclave for their generosity, camaraderie and strength of friendship & community👍

‘Join the Navy to see the world’! Most grateful to our Nation & our Navy for having had my fair share of that dream and promise. Now rather saddened, to be supposedly, too old to go to sea. Good luck and God Bless #INSSudarshini through your eyes, we will see the sea

Indian Navy Conducts Swift MEDEVAC from Offshore Oil Rig
In a swift and coordinated response to a medical emergency at sea, an ALH from @IN_Garuda, Southern Naval Command successfully carried out a medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) from Oil Rig Greatdrill Chhaya, located 110 km off the coast of #Kochi. The emergency involved a 42 year old individual who was reported to be suffering from cardiac complications. Responding promptly, the helo was launched at first light on #15Apr 26 with a medical team and the patient was airlifted to Kochi .
This operation underscores #IndianNavy’s unwavering commitment to #maritimesafety and its readiness to render assistance during emergencies at sea with speed, precision, and professionalism.
