A better response begins with understanding the problem. Extensive battery testing showed AeroTeam how quickly conditions can change and helped shape AeroChief.

Another incredible season for @IchabodWSOC continues this weekend at the MIAA Tournament semifinals (and hopefully final) down in Wichita.
Let's relive and the go-ahead goal from this weekend's quarterfinals tilt against Northeastern State (and then maybe fix those polls, too):

IN 1981 ROBIN WILLIAMS WALKED ONTO THE TONIGHT SHOW FOR THE FIRST TIME AND 12 SECONDS LATER TURNED INTO A TV PREACHER WHO KEPT THE HOST SILENT FOR 90 SECONDS.
THE HOST DIDN'T GET A WORD IN FOR 90 SECONDS.
fall 1981. Mork & Mindy is about to start its 4th season, a new film comes out next spring
the host reads the intro: the last time he saw him was 3 years ago, on Dick Cavett
"would you welcome Robin Williams"
→ he walks out and goes straight into preacher mode: "comedy can heal you"
→ "oh my god I'm okay now. I'm out here mama, I'm on TV"
→ a shout-out to his friends in San Francisco
→ "don't touch the back of the TV, it'll shock you across the room"
→ then he takes apart the Sunday TV evangelists: the hair, the suits, the big dead roses
→ "I could not save this flower. but I will save you"
90 seconds. he still hasn't sat down
first time on that couch and the room is already his
10 years later he'd do it again. that time Johnny Carson ended up with his face in his hands
what's the best talk show entrance you've ever seen?

I caught a ram attacking a cougar cub and pulled him off.
He was terrified, could barely walk, injuries worse than I thought.
My golden Rocco kept him warm but he wouldn't eat.
Mother came to the glass door.
Almost a year later he came back, not so little anymore 🥺 Would you have pulled the ram off?

The little boy walked up to our table of leather-clad bikers and slammed down a crumpled piece of paper. In messy letters, it read: “DADDY’S FUNERAL. NEED SCARY MEN.” His Superman cape was on backwards, and his tiny fingers were stained with marker ink. “My mom said I can’t ask you,” he said, “but she cries all the time. The boys at school said Daddy won’t go to heaven without scary men to protect him.” Big Tom, our towering road captain, picked up the drawing. It showed stick figures on motorcycles surrounding a coffin. “Where’s your mom?” he asked gently. The boy pointed to a beat-up Toyota outside. “She’s scared of you,” he said. “Everybody’s scared of you. That’s why I need you.” Then he told us his father’s name: Officer Marcus Rivera, a police officer who had been killed. Tom looked at the date on the paper—tomorrow, Riverside Cemetery—and quietly said, “You tell your mom your daddy is going to have the biggest, loudest, scariest escort to heaven anyone has ever seen.”
The next morning, I expected fifteen bikes. Instead, the road was lined with them. Our entire chapter had shown up. Then our rivals arrived. The Vipers. Then the Sons of Odin. Word had spread. A little boy had asked for scary men, and the entire biker community had answered. By the time the funeral procession arrived, more than a hundred motorcycles stood in silence. At Tom’s signal, the engines roared together like thunder. We formed two lines around the family, escorting them into the cemetery. At the graveside, officers stood on one side and bikers on the other. There was no hostility—only silence. We formed a circle around the family, backs turned toward them, facing outward. For those few minutes, we weren’t rivals, bikers, or cops. We were simply men standing between a grieving family and the world.
After the service, the police chief walked over to Tom, his voice breaking. “I don’t have the words. Officer Rivera was a good man.” Tom nodded. “He had a good son.” Then Miguel walked over, clutching the folded American flag from his father’s coffin. He held it out to Tom. “This is for you. My daddy was a hero. He protected people. Today, you protected him.” Tom tried to refuse, but Miguel pushed the flag into his hands. The toughest man I knew stood there trembling, tears in his eyes, unable to speak. We had come because a little boy asked for scary men. But as we rode away quietly that afternoon, we knew the truth: the bravest person there had been a little boy in a backwards Superman cape who wasn’t afraid to ask for help.

Had a fellow voter tell me about the showdown of Hayden HS and Burlington HS GBB at KS state tournament in ‘01. This state loves hoops, and I was sold that the Cats got homered. 🏀🇺🇸✔️
