MAKE THE CALL HEIMIR! 📞

Amidst the constant stream of faux outrage, I always like to give a nuanced take with each squad announcement. GK: Perfect ✅ DF: Given injuries it was always going to be interesting who came in. I’d have Omobamidele in every squad as one of the first picks, but it’s clear for what ever reason, Heimir is not a fan. Happy to see Kitching at a minimum to prove IFB correct as the vultures would have come after us as usual. Back him. MF: Always the biggest complaint. If the U21s hadn’t a crucial game it would’ve looked different. Depending, don’t be surprised if there is changes. Thought I would’ve had Sykes over Coventry. FW: I’m really, happy with this especially the inclusion of Elding and the faith we have shown in Vata. Cannon is one I may not have had but I understand why he was, As I’ve stressed elsewhere, don’t be surprised if we see players come in and out over the next couple of weeks. But most importantly, as always. GET BEHIND THE TEAM!!!

Four Things We Need to See This International Break Heimir Hallgrímsson is set to name his squad on Thursday for not only the most fixture-heavy International Break of his tenure with Ireland. But the nation's busiest in over a decade, ironically since our exploits over a decade ago at Euro 2016. 24th September - Kosovo vs Ireland 27th September - Israel vs Ireland 1st October - Ireland vs Austria 4th October - Ireland vs Israel h As the saying goes with some in football, the most important is the NEXT, and though we aren't quite back into another qualifying period, that'll come next year… It still couldn't be more true for the Ireland National Team after our heartbreak last March and camps of growth in the summer… Now is the point where we need to see this Management Team and players start to find the consistency that I truly believe them to be capable of achieving! Scroll through for the things I believe we really need to see in the coming few weeks!
