Such a breath of fresh air. In a wrestling world where fewer matches and more “load management” have become increasingly accepted, the eagerness to compete against the best is much needed. We’ve seen this approach with the more recent class of athletes. Love to see it! 👏🏼
NO TIME ON THE THRONE FOR THE WORLD CHAMP 👑
Bo Bassett told me he'll get back to Blacksburg around 1 a.m. Tuesday. On Thursday, Virginia Tech gets on the bus for Friday's dual with Lehigh (7 p.m. ET, live on FloWrestling).
After a freestyle season where he won U20 AND Senior World gold, Bassett starts his college career against #1 Luke Stanich at 141, and he's looking forward to the opportunity to wrestle the top guy in the country.
The kicker? They're scheduled to meet again at the NWCA All-Star Classic on November 24th!

Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' challenging for #1 on the Billboard 200 with 52K units this week, currently pacing for #2 (via @HITSDD).
It would mark its 38th week at #1 and first in the 21st century.

This is 100% accurate. There was never supposed to be any video recording of the matches. In fact, people were specifically asked to stop recording if they were seen doing so. That’s exactly why I chose not to record matches.
At the end of the day, it’s about respect. Respecting the event, the people involved, and the expectations that were clearly established. It’s really that simple.
