Today I learned that the ER is less busy while football is on. And if the Cowboys have a bad first half, the ER gets more crowded during the second half.
Apparently people either don’t do ER-worthy stuff because they’re watching the game, or they just hold off til later.
Turns out a rainy day fund is not for “when it’s raining and you can’t hang out outside so you go shopping to pass the time.”
Jesus didn’t die for the ideal church. The church that we could be.
The church we think we’re supposed to be.
Jesus died for the actual church. For Maggie and Barbara and Tom with their potlucks and Bible studies and outdated facilities. That church.
Jesus loves that church.

Does anybody know if Churches of Christ using sealed communion cups has hurt @Welchs bottom line?
My wife went to the dr today. Doc said that the problem with her ear is she’s not got enough lubrication in her Eustachian tube. She needs more allergies. More snot. More sickness.
The doctor told my wife the only way to get better is to get sick.
That’ll be $136.20.
Serious question, and I don’t mean to come off rude, just genuinely interested:
Why is it acceptable to purchase curriculum for youth ministry but not to purchase sermons for preaching ministry?
My guess is that youth ministry is done by volunteers far more often than preaching, and volunteers will teach a premise curriculum than write their own.
I want to commend my youth minister friends, @Johnfrias11 and @thedocfile and others. I appreciate the work you guys do.
