The NCAA just changed the transfer requirements for two-year college athletes moving to Division I.
On June 24, 2026, the NCAA approved reforms that bring the two-year college transfer path in line with the four-year transfer path.

BREAKING: The NCAA is officially adopting the age-based eligibility structure, giving players 5 years to play 5 seasons from either when they enroll or from the season they turn 19 (whichever comes first).
The Division I cabinet was unanimous in their vote for the new model.
I feel bad this year for the kids waiting for Christmas in July... That D1 or D2 offer from Coach Kringle at Old Saint Nick University is exclusive to kids from the North Pole 🎅🏾 🎄

Most scholarships outside of NCAA D1 are packaged through a combination of academic aid, FAFSA grants, and athletic money.
Together, those can equal a “full ride,” but most are not full athletic scholarships alone.
Some may still need loans to cover tuition. Some may not.
