A new version of "Resolution" being conducted for ‘Godzilla Minus Zero’

Saw “Godzilla Minus One” for a second time at Shinagawa, which was recently upgraded with “IMAX® with Laser.” The sound was excellent. Picked up the special edition pamphlet as well, along with the Movie Monster Series King Ghidorah Theatrical Release Commemorative Original Color Ver.
A “Godzilla film” is different from an ordinary “kaiju movie.” For more than 60 years, it has transcended generations, cultivating a fanbase that continues to multiply like Godzilla cells themselves. There have been the Showa era films, the Heisei era films, the Millennium series, the MonsterVerse, director Anno’s Shin Godzilla, the animated Godzilla films. Each comes with its own distinct look and interpretation of Godzilla. Naturally, everyone has their own thoughts about this latest one. But as a longtime Godzilla fan, what makes me happiest is seeing so many people talking about it, debating it, planning merchandise and events around it, and audiences around the world embracing a Japanese-language Godzilla film. This Godzilla is neither “Minus” nor “Zero.” For humanity, it can only be a “plus.” And that goes for Minami Hamabe’s return to the world stage as well.

i feel like until the 2000's to modern day godzilla incarnations came about daimajin was like uncontested the angriest guy in the kaiju genre. you'd be hard pressed to find somebody angrier than he was and i love him all the more for it

As a movie that I feel was the baseline for how dragons would move and be animated with CGI from the 2000s onwards,
Its a sweet discovery to learn one of the lead animators of Reign of Fire, Atsushi Sato, was actually brought on for Godzilla Minus Zero to help animate Ghidorah.

Still considering these two in the same universe btw
The idea of a giant gorilla running rampant through your city over a decade ago and then having a giant nuke dino pull up later is extremely funny to me

Should the minus films acknowledge the atrocities Japan did during the war more then it does yeah probably but if I was being double teamed by Nuke Jason and Antigravity Michael Myers I would have trouble contemplating my crimes too

How does one have so much unbridled hatred for a nigga they have never even seen before?

Same energy, and Mafune goes through the same motions, but ultimately it’s far too late in the story for him to change course since Revenge is all he has left. I think the choice to reject redemption is why he’s still one of the strongest human characters in the franchise.

Why are so many space enthusiasts drawn to the iconic orange tank?
I think it's more than just the legacy of the Space Shuttle era. It's also the raw, heavy-industrial aesthetic inherited from the Apollo era.

In Oppenheimer, there is a scene where they’re showing the aftermath of the bombing to Oppenheimer and his scientists at Los Alamos.
You never see the actual imagery, only the emotional toll it took on them.
In Godzilla Minus Zero, they hold no punches showing the brutality of what had just happened.
I’d like to imagine this is one of the gaps Yamazaki was trying to fill from Nolan’s film.
It’s beautiful to witness how cinema can a story across two different films ❤️
"Yamazaki’s new 'Godzilla Minus Zero' doesn’t so much try to surpass its predecessor as to cap it like a protective bookend," writes Stephanie Zacharek. "It’s a magnificent entertainment with a melancholy heart." time-magazine.visitlink.me/k…
