As they were quarreling, a senior, respected German politician interrupted them with : "What's the point of arguing. Someone solved it for us". Everyone shrugged and got quiet. I wish German politicians were less hypocritical in public.

Four years ago today, the Kremlin lost its most important geopolitical weapon. I happened to be at a think-tank in Berlin a month after. Politicians from the two main parties got into an argument about whose fault it'd been that Germany was so dependent on Russian energy. (1/2)
