The CLARITY Act just failed to bring clarity to crypto. Yesterday, the U.S. Senate failed to advance one of the most important attempts yet to establish a comprehensive regulatory framework for digital assets. The procedural vote ended 49–50, well short of the 60 votes required to move forward. But perhaps the most interesting part is why. Because this stopped being only a debate about crypto regulation. It became several political battles happening at the same time. One was about Trump. Democratic senators argued that the bill's ethics provisions did not go far enough to address potential conflicts surrounding public officials' crypto interests, particularly President Trump's own involvement in the industry. Another was about banks. Banks have been pushing for tighter restrictions on stablecoin rewards, warning that attractive yields could pull deposits away from traditional banks and affect lending. Crypto companies, unsurprisingly, see things differently. Then add developer protections, consumer safeguards, market structure, SEC vs CFTC jurisdiction... And suddenly a bill designed to answer: “How should America regulate crypto?” was also trying to answer: “How should politicians participate in crypto?” “How much should stablecoins be allowed to compete with banks?” “Who gets to regulate what?” That's the fascinating part. Sometimes legislation doesn't fail because people disagree about the technology. It fails because the technology starts touching too many existing interests at once. Banks. Regulators. Politicians. Fintechs. Crypto companies. Consumers. And perhaps that's also evidence of how far crypto has come. Ten years ago, politicians could mostly ignore it. Today, crypto policy intersects with banking competition, financial markets, political ethics and even the future architecture of money. The CLARITY Act may not have advanced. The questions it exposed aren't going anywhere. Because crypto can be regulated. It can be restricted. It can be argued about for another decade. But it can't really be uninvented. 🧡

From community to institutions. 🧡 One of our core missions has always been simple: make blockchain understandable, useful and real. And today, we’re proud to share a big step in that direction. We are currently training ACA (Association des Compagnies d’Assurances et de RĂ©assurances)! Together with The Blockchain AcademyÂź, and led by Wim Stalmans and Sorin Cristescu, we’re delivering a program focused on: - blockchain fundamentals - real-world applications - and specifically
how this technology connects to the insurance sector Because blockchain is becoming a topic of discussion across industries, from insurance to finance, governance and infrastructure. And that’s exactly where things get interesting. What we’re seeing is clear: curiosity is growing, use cases are becoming tangible and institutions are starting to seriously explore what this means for them. We are proud to be part of this journey. Proud to contribute to the ecosystem here in Luxembourg. And even more excited for what’s next. 🧡 And if you’re also looking to understand all of this
Our Introduction to Blockchain, Cryptocurrencies & Web3 course is starting right after Easter. We’ve shared all the details in our previous posts! See you soon, in class or around a table. 🧡

If you're a creator, here's the truth you need to hear: LinkedIn isn't working for you anymore. Impressions are down. Engagement is throttled. Your best content barely reaches your audience; unless you pay, of course. And your feed? Drowning in ads and promoted fluff. What changed? The unspoken deal is broken: you give them content, they give you reach. Now, you're just feeding a machine that’s optimized to extract value from you, not reward you for creating it. We’ve seen this before: Facebook. Instagram. Reddit. X. Now it's LinkedIn’s turn. And unless you own your platform, your audience, and your voice... you’re always one algorithm change away from irrelevance. That’s why Hive matters! Hive is a paradigm shift: - No throttling. Your followers actually see what you post. - You own your content, forever, on-chain. - You get rewarded, with creators and readers both earning HIVE/HBD based on engagement. - No central control. Hive is decentralized. No corporate overlords. No silent bans. No hidden levers. This is an answer for whoever wants to build durable value. Your posts don’t die in 48 hours. They stay. They compound. They matter. So, maybe it’s time to stop playing by their rules. Maybe it’s time to build somewhere where you own the rules. We’re already doing it on Hive. Join us. More questions? Ask them in the comments 👇 Or directly reach out to us! 🧡

Non-profits have heart. But do they always have accountability? That’s the governance challenge we’ve been obsessed with at OffChain Luxembourg. In a business, risk and responsibility are crystal clear: - Investors take risks - Objectives are measurable - Failure has consequences - Accountability is embedded But in non-profits? Too often, the equation is fuzzier. There’s plenty of idealism, but less accounting. Money comes in through donations — and if a project fails? There’s often no direct consequence for mismanagement. It’s "nobody’s loss"
except maybe the community’s. So how do we fix that? At OffChain, we’ve started solving this with what we do best: a governance model powered by blockchain. We introduced an internal accounting system based on our token, OCLT, to bring clarity, traceability, and shared responsibility across all our operations. Every unit of work. Every budget line. Every vote. Backed by transparent data. Auditable by design. No excuses. This is how accountability scales with community. We believe the next generation of non-profits will be measured not just by ideals, but by impact. What do you think: Should more non-profits adopt token-based accounting to track value and responsibility?

JPMorgan is making its move and it’s a big one. The largest U.S. bank just announced it will begin accepting Bitcoin-linked ETFs as collateral for loans. That’s right; clients will now be able to borrow money against their crypto ETF holdings, starting with BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust, one of the largest Bitcoin ETFs in the world. Even more: JPMorgan will factor clients’ crypto holdings into net-worth calculations, placing digital assets in the same bucket as stocks, art, or real estate. From now on, your Bitcoin exposure might help you unlock more credit. This applies to all JPMorgan clients globally, from regular users to high-net-worth individuals. And it's not a one-off: other Bitcoin ETFs will be added over time. For context: spot Bitcoin ETFs launched in the U.S. in January 2024. In just over a year, they’ve gathered over $128 billion in assets, making it one of the most successful product rollouts in financial history. This move is yet another signal that the tide is turning. Jamie Dimon (CEO of JPMorgan) is still “not a fan” of Bitcoin, but even he admitted: “I don’t think we should smoke, but I defend your right to smoke. I defend your right to buy Bitcoin.” Well, apparently he’s now financing your lighter too. At OffChain Luxembourg, we’ve always stood for real crypto. The permissionless kind. The peer-to-peer kind. The “don’t-trust, verify” kind. So, while it’s great to see major banks like JPMorgan giving crypto some real financial legitimacy, we also know this is just the beginning. - They’re not yet accepting Bitcoin directly. - They’re still relying on TradFi wrappers like ETFs. - It’s still gated and custodial. But that’s okay, you can’t ignore the spark. The fact that the largest U.S. bank is even offering these services is historic. Let’s be honest: Bitcoin is knocking on the gates of global finance and those gates are starting to creak open. We believe the future is about direct Bitcoin integration, decentralized tools, and open access for all. But today’s news is proof that momentum is real and that Bitcoin is no longer fringe. It’s finance. What do you think? Is this a milestone worth celebrating? Or should banks be more courageous and embrace Bitcoin directly? Let us know 👇

Are NFTs dead? Europe’s post offices didn’t get the memo! Because guess what’s back? Crypto stamps. And this time, Portugal’s CTT is joining the club! In September 2025, POST Luxembourg drops its third crypto stamp, teaming up once again with Österreichische Post, PostNL, bpost
and now welcoming Portugal’s CTT into the Web3 stamp universe. From lions to dragons, each edition has brought a new beast into the blockchain jungle. But this time? We don’t know yet which animal (or creature) will take the spotlight. Want a sneak peek? Word is: if you subscribe to POST Luxembourg’s newsletter
you might find out before everyone else! These are physical + digital collectibles, where every stamp has an NFT twin, minted on-chain, provably rare, tradable, and part of a pan-European drop that fuses philately with blockchain. The first drop came in 2019. POST Luxembourg joined in the 5th edition, unleashing 75,000 lions on the Polygon network. The 6th edition brought just 15,000 dragons and they flew fast. Will they stick with Polygon? Or switch it up again this year? No clue. But we’re watching. Closely. At OffChain, we love seeing real-world institutions embrace real Web3 tech. This is evolution. And if you’re curious about NFTs, blockchain collectibles, or how to get your hands on this upcoming drop, you know where to find us. Let’s stamp the future together! ✉ 🧡

Visa and Mastercard are rewriting the rules of payments and they’re doing it with stablecoins. For decades, they’ve dominated the legacy system. Now they’re building the rails for the Internet of Money. Let’s break it down: Visa x Bridge (via Stripe) Visa just partnered with Bridge to launch stablecoin-powered cards. First wave: Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Chile. Next: Europe, Africa, Asia. Why it matters: ‱ Spend crypto like cash: Stablecoins convert instantly to fiat at checkout. ‱ API-first infrastructure: No need to beg every local regulator for access. ‱ LATAM focus: A real answer to inflation and punishing FX fees. ‱ Pre-regulation advantage: Visa is going crypto-fiat before the laws are even finalized. They’re not waiting for permission. They’re building the future. Mastercard isn’t sleeping either. They’re going full stack on stablecoins: ‱ Card integration with MetaMask, Kraken, Binance, Crypto.com & more, use stablecoins anywhere Mastercard is accepted. ‱ Merchant settlement: Thanks to Nuvei, Circle & Paxos, stores can receive payments directly in stablecoins. ‱ On-chain remittances: Send funds across the world with just a wallet address via “Crypto Credential.” ‱ Multi-Token Network: Already connects JPMorgan, Standard Chartered, and other banking giants to on-chain value transfer. As Mastercard’s CPO puts it: “Stablecoins must be as simple as a bank account.” What Visa and Mastercard are doing? They’re paving the way for a new financial reality, where money moves like email and every business can plug into a borderless economy. The future of finance is decentralized, efficient, and available to everyone. And it’s already happening. So here’s the question countries, companies and people needs to ask themselves: Are we building the future, or just watching it happen?

From Munich
to Wallets. PSG isn’t done winning. After securing their long-awaited Champions League title, the Parisian giants are now making headlines for another bold move and this time, it’s off the pitch. PSG has officially announced that it holds Bitcoin as part of its treasury. The club revealed the news at Bitcoin 2025 in Las Vegas, becoming the first professional football club in the world to make such a declaration. We know, some of our fellow OffChain members are Inter fans and we truly feel for you. But let’s all agree: this move by PSG is a win for everyone in the crypto space. Through PSG Labs, their internal innovation unit, the club is investing in the future, supporting early-stage Bitcoin startups, helping entrepreneurs raise funds, and offering them exposure to over 500 million fans worldwide. This is about vision. What does this mean? - It confirms Bitcoin’s evolution from speculative asset to strategic reserve. - It shows that Bitcoin is for culture, for institutions, for global brands. - It highlights how BTC can act as a hedge against inflation, a long-term store of value, and a gateway to financial innovation. PSG now stands alongside companies like MicroStrategy and even governments moving toward crypto reserves. The message is clear: Bitcoin is becoming part of serious financial infrastructure. While the U.S. pushes forward with the GENIUS Act and the UAE creates crypto-friendly havens, Europe is still watching from the sidelines. Luxembourg, Europe, this is your moment. Bitcoin is a bet on transparency, sovereignty, and long-term thinking. Yet MiCA, for all its ambition, risks becoming the law that avoided innovation instead of enabling it. It’s time to act. It’s time to lead. And it’s time to give Europe its own Orange Heart. đŸ§ĄđŸ‡±đŸ‡ș

Sometimes people mention that "The problem with Bitcoin is trust!" While it's true that trust is a significant factor in the crypto space, the issue isn't quite what you might think. Trust is, in fact, the very foundation of Bitcoin's strength. It’s not blind trust; it’s a trust that is built and earned over time. With nearly 900,000 blocks mined without interruption and no counterfeit bitcoins created, Bitcoin has proven its resilience. There have been no outages, and its decentralized architecture means there’s no single leader, CEO, or government controlling it. It has withstood censorship for over 15 years. As of 2024, illicit transactions account for less than 1% of Bitcoin's network activity (Source: Chainalysis). So, where does the real trust issue lie? It stems from a lack of understanding, misinformation perpetuated by certain media outlets, and the interests of traditional banks that see Bitcoin as a serious competitor. There’s also confusion between Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The only "danger" for Bitcoin today is that it becomes too attractive to financial institutions. Just look at JP Morgan, whose CEO Jamie Dimon once called Bitcoin a scam, but is now considering allowing clients to purchase it through the bank. Bitcoin may not be perfect, but it is a resilient, open, transparent network that can be verified by anyone, anywhere, at any time. That reliability surpasses many systems we use daily without question. Bitcoin is indeed trustworthy; we just need to learn to understand it better. At Offchain Luxembourg, we recognize that education is key to overcoming the trust barrier surrounding Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. That's why we are not only offering courses to help people understand Bitcoin and blockchain technology, but we are also launching the Innopay initiative. Innopay is designed to demonstrate how Bitcoin can seamlessly integrate into our daily lives, particularly through payments. By showcasing real use cases, we aim to make people aware that Bitcoin is not a merely speculative asset or a complex concept reserved for tech enthusiasts. We’ve already partnered with two local businesses, Indies and Al21 Restaurant, to accept Bitcoin as a payment method. These partnerships are just the beginning! We are actively working with more shops in Luxembourg and the Greater Region to expand this initiative. Imagine walking into your favorite cafĂ© or restaurant and being able to pay with Bitcoin; this is the future we are building! By making Bitcoin a practical payment option, we are helping to bridge the gap between the crypto world and everyday consumers. Join us on this exciting journey as we pave the way for a new era of crypto payments in our community. Together, we can turn skepticism into understanding and show that Bitcoin is not just a concept, but a viable part of our everyday lives!

MICA Update: A Luxembourg Perspective As the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation reshapes the European crypto landscape, one trend is becoming increasingly evident: high registration numbers under the previous regime do not guarantee compliance under the new framework. Across the EU, 3,389 Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) were registered pre-MiCA under national AML frameworks. However, as of May 15, 2025, only 24 firms have successfully secured MiCA authorization. The shift in compliance is striking: In Poland, 1,418 VASPs were registered pre-MiCA, yet none have received approvals so far. Conversely, Germany, with just 12 pre-MiCA VASPs, now leads with 9 MiCA-approved Crypto Asset Service Providers (CASPs). This reflects a regulatory pivot from sheer volume to a focus on supervision-ready, well-governed entities. In Luxembourg, we currently have 14 VASPs, with Bitstamp and Clearstream Banking both successfully converting their local VASP licenses into European CASP licenses. As we approach the July 2025 deadline, it’s crucial for Europe to foster an environment that encourages innovation and growth. Instead of slowing down progress, we should empower companies to leverage the regulations being established. The transitional framework varies across countries, with most requiring VASPs to submit their applications by July 2025: Germany, Spain, Italy, Lithuania, and others: 12 months to transition. Malta, Estonia, France, Cyprus, Czechia: Full 18-month grandfathering until July 2026. Poland, Netherlands, Finland, Latvia, Slovenia: Only 6 months. As we look ahead, July 2025 will serve as a critical checkpoint to assess who is advancing and who may quietly exit the market. In summary, Poland has the most to accomplish in the shortest timeframe, while Luxembourg must seize the opportunity to lead in compliance and innovation. Let’s work together to ensure that the regulatory landscape supports the growth of our industry!

Community currencies are being used around the world to boost local economies and strengthen community ties. Look at Beckerich, a small commune in western Luxembourg near the Belgian border. In 2013, Beckerich introduced its local currency called the “Beki.” With hundreds of users and acceptance by 60-70 businesses across a network of 10 communes, Beki has helped revitalize commerce in this rural area. Beckerich is also a sustainability pioneer - producing 85% of its energy needs from renewables which adds to the local charm and resilience. Now, enter OCLT (OffChain Luxembourg Token), a new community currency with a fresh twist. Unlike many previous projects, OCLT is the first token in Europe to be fully compliant with MiCA regulations, ensuring a clear legal status from day one. Built on the Hive blockchain, OCLT offers feeless and fast transactions, making it practical for everyday use - whether you’re buying a coffee or exchanging services among local businesses. Whereas Beki has succeeded in a small, close-knit network, OCLT aims to connect not only Luxembourg but also neighboring regions in France, Germany, and Belgium. This cross-border vision could help bridge divides and create a larger, more dynamic community. While Beki has shown that a local currency can strengthen a regional economy, OCLT takes this idea further by combining strong regulatory compliance, advanced blockchain technology, and the ambition to unite a whole Greater Region. What do you think about a community currency that’s regulated, feeless, and built to unite a cross-border region? Share your thoughts in the comments!

GameStop Is Buying Bitcoin. Should Companies in Luxembourg Follow? In a bold move following the MicroStrategy example, GameStop just announced it will acquire Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset, raising $1.3 billion through convertible debt to do so. Yes, the same GameStop that once embodied the meme-stock era is now playing in the big leagues of monetary strategy. No interest. No fluff. Just stacking BTC for the long haul. Their bet? That Bitcoin is the best protection against monetary instability and a better store of value than cash, bonds, or even tech stocks in today’s environment. As debt concerns grow in the U.S. As fiat systems globally feel pressure As more institutions recognize the strategic value of Bitcoin
It’s fair to ask: Should companies in Luxembourg and the Greater Region consider doing the same?. But let’s be honest: stacking Bitcoin isn’t the same as setting aside cash. It raises questions about custody, regulation, and operational processes. Self-custody is a powerful tool, but it’s not for everyone, not right away. That’s why regulated solutions exist. Take CACEIS, for example, a trusted name in asset servicing, already offering regulated custody for digital assets to investment funds. A natural partner for companies that want to diversify their financial holdings without diving straight into cold storage. It’s about building options. And it’s about resilience. At OffChain Luxembourg, we believe in pragmatic adoption, and we’re here to help. We’ve long been advocating for bold steps like this, like through our Orange Heart Initiative, with which we’re calling for Luxembourg to follow the U.S., El Salvador and Bhutan example in establishing a national Bitcoin reserve. But we also know education is key. That’s why we’re ready to work with any company, big or small, to educate CFOs, risk managers, and treasury teams on how this could work. Understand the mechanics Learn about custody models Explore real use cases Bitcoin may be a new asset class, but it’s not uncharted territory anymore. So here’s the question: Could Luxembourgish companies benefit from including Bitcoin in their treasury strategies? Is now the time to explore it, step by step, securely, legally, and with the right partners? We’re here for the conversation. Let’s talk. 👇

When you think of scarcity, you might picture rare collectibles or limited-edition sneakers. In the crypto world, scarcity plays a key role in creating value. Let’s break it down with two major players: Bitcoin and Ethereum. Bitcoin is often called “digital gold” because it’s truly scarce. Its supply is capped at 21 million coins - no more will ever be created. This fixed supply means that as demand grows, Bitcoin’s limited nature can help drive up its value. For example, with Bitcoin’s market cap now in the trillions, its scarcity has been a major factor in its rise as a store of value. Ethereum, however, takes a different approach. Ethereum doesn’t have a hard cap like Bitcoin. In its early days, there was no fixed limit, so in theory, its supply could keep growing. But that doesn’t mean Ethereum isn’t scarce at all. Recent upgrades, such as the EIP-1559 update, have introduced a mechanism that burns a portion of the transaction fees. This means that a part of every transaction is permanently removed from circulation, reducing the net supply over time. While Ethereum’s scarcity isn’t as clear-cut as Bitcoin’s 21 million cap, these deflationary measures help create a balance between supply and demand. So, when we talk about digital scarcity in crypto, Bitcoin offers a straightforward model with a limited supply, while Ethereum uses a mix of growth and controlled reduction to manage its value. Both approaches have their own advantages and help explain why these digital assets have captured so much attention. What are your thoughts on how scarcity shapes value in crypto? Share your ideas in the comments!
