In 2014, I was at the border as soldiers assembled and prepared to enter Gaza.
This song was constantly blasting and everyone danced.
It's called Mi Sh'Ma'amin Lo Mefached.
(He who believes is not Afraid)
Another generation of warriors has risen since then.
The whole world can hate us, and we'll never break.
Because G-d has never left us.
Shabbat Shalom everyone.
And G-d Bless our soldiers who fight night and day so we are safe in our homes.

They did it AGAIN. They lied about the mass-shooting in Poland.
Marcin Kierwiński, Polish Interior Minister (long-time associate and loyalist of Donald Tusk)
"Everything indicates that he was fascinated by far-right ideologies"
...and then the internet finds the photo.

In March 1942, a 22-year-old sat on the deck of a motor launch in the warm spring sunshine.
He was preparing to sail to occupied France for the raid on St Nazaire.
Or what has become known as ‘the Greatest Raid of All’.
He was Lance Sergeant Bill Gibson of No. 2 Commando.
He knew the mission to destroy this Nazi dry dock was likely a one-way trip.
He wrote a letter to his father, only to be delivered in the event he never came back.
"My dearest Dad, by the time you get this I shall be one of the many who have sacrificed their unimportant lives for what little ideals we may have - my own ideals I can thank you for."
He calmly explained the mission was "virtually suicide”, but the magnitude of the results would make it worthwhile:
putting the German raiders out of action for at least six months, protecting the ships bringing vital food across the Atlantic , and saving the lives of his fellow servicemen.
"The reason I am writing this at all, Dad, is just the thought that it might be a little better for you to get this rather than the dreaded telegram."
He reflects on the friendships he made in life, telling his father: "you've been the best pal I've ever had."
One can only be in awe of the character of a 22-year-old that went on:
"It seems ever so peculiar to be writing this letter. We've just finished our tea and the sunshine is streaming through the portholes.
We've been on deck sunbathing all day. With spring in the air and everything looking so beautiful we can only now appreciate how lovely everything is - almost like condemned criminals."
He asks his dad to write to his Irish girlfriend, Anne, and let her know what has happened.
He asks him not to worry or be too unhappy, and reminds him of the advice his father always gave him: to keep his chin up.
He lays out the reason for laying down his life:
"the generations to come might in some way remember us."
He closes:
"In a time like this I turn to you, Dad, and God - I hope there will be peace for everyone soon. Give my love to everyone - I'll remember you. Your loving son, Bill."
Neither Bill nor his friend Peter Harkness survived the night of 28 March.
Their launch, ML 268, was devastated by enemy fire before they could even get ashore.
However their mission, astonishingly, was a success.
Bill was 22 years old, with a girl he loved, a family he adored, and his whole life ahead of him.
He has no known grave; his name is on the Brookwood Memorial.
On Remembrance Sunday, the sheer scale of the devastation of the war can be overwhelming.
But Bill Gibson's letter illuminates the heart-wrenching reality of sacrifice: young men who loved life.
Painfully aware of the beauty of the world they were giving up.
Who went anyway for the sake of people they would never meet.
We are the generations to come that you wrote about, Bill.
We have benefited from what you did.
We remember you.
And the many others who made the ultimate sacrifice for us.
Lest we forget.
We will remember them.

Apologies if you've seen me post endlessly about Folic Acid being mass medicated by UK Govt. I am one of millions at risk. The more people we can persuade to kick back, the better chanc Govt will rescind this monstrous policy.

Britain's first poppies weren't made in Britain. 🇫🇷
In 1921, every one was shipped over from France. 🚢
Back home, thousands of men had come back from the trenches without an arm, a leg or an eye. Many couldn't find work. 💔
One wounded officer, Major George Howson, had an idea. Britain's poppies, made by Britain's wounded. 🌺
He wrote home: "I do not think it can be a great success. But it is worth trying." ✍️
In June 1922, five disabled men sat down at a bench on the Old Kent Road. 🪑
Within two months, they'd made a million. 🤯
By 1924, twenty-seven million. Enough for more than half the people in Britain. 🇬🇧
A century later, veterans there still make the royal wreaths laid at the Cenotaph. 🕊️
So now, when you put yours on, you can also remember where it came from. 🙏
We will remember them. 🌺
Be part of us. ☝️🇬🇧 Be Proud Of Us. 🙏🇬🇧

Hundreds of London black cabs lined Westminster Bridge again today, waiting to take veterans home from the Cenotaph without charging a penny.
The service, now called Cabs for Veterans after running for years as Poppy Cabs, began in 2009 with fifteen taxis parked on the bridge, marking the eleventh hour while they waited for veterans coming off the trains. The drivers had realised something nobody had thought much about: every London black cab is wheelchair accessible, and for a lot of veterans that is the difference between attending and staying at home.
Seventeen years on it runs to over a thousand free journeys, most of them packed into about two hours either side of the service. Drivers meet veterans at the mainline stations, take them to Whitehall, then wait and take them back again. The whole thing is funded by the cabbies themselves, time, fuel and all, often with family and friends along to help.
As one organiser put it, there is no more moving sight than standing on Westminster Bridge as Big Ben strikes eleven and seeing hundreds of black cabs lined up in silence.

Today is Remembrance Sunday.
886,000 British men died in WW1.
384,000 British men died in WW2.
Tragic that they sacrificed everything for their country - only for us to give it away without a fight. 🏴🇬🇧
