Not posted for a while but happy to be back. Last night a weakened 2nd team made the short journey over to Lees #oldham to play against 3cs 3rd team. Despite being outgunned on 4 of 6 boards & overall average, blue club 2 came away with a massive 5-1 win. Well played to all.
Thought I'd get this in early. Happy new year to all you #chess lovers.
Wishing everyone in #Oldham, #oldhamhour, the wider community, the #Chess community the #ecf, and all across the world a very Merry Christmas from all here at the club.
Back on the free nights where #chess and improvement are the top priority tonight. You know the time and place if you want to join us. Blue Club on Victoria Street from 715. See you there.
3rd team in action away at Glossop tonight so a quiet upstairs means plenty of boards available for you to come and play some #Chess yourself. Plenty should be there to challenge, learn, and have fun. Usual time, usual place. ♟️♟️♟️.
Just under two hours to make your plans for the evening.
Club is on tomorrow & a rare night where we have the upstairs room dedicated to learning. We have a special guest in Adam Scoular coming to give out a training session so well worth a visit to brush up on your #chess skills. Blue Club is on Victoria St Chadderton & meet from 730.

Having played chess at a young age, I know the transformational impact it can have on young people.
That's why today we're allocating £1.5m to help identify, support, and elevate top-tier players who have the potential to compete at a global level.
