Today in Soroti, I engaged key leaders and local government stakeholders across the Teso and Karamoja sub-regions, including RDCs, LCV Chairpersons, CAOs, and Commercial Officers on implementing the GROW Business Plan Competition. I underscored our commitment to transparency, integrity, and fairness, issuing a clear warning against any extortion or exploitation of our youth. Participation in this programme is 100% free, and no applicant should ever be asked to pay to access or benefit from this initiative. I call upon all local leaders to actively champion this vision within their communities. It is critical that leadership shares accurate eligibility criteria, guides prospective applicants through the process, and immediately reports any instances of extortion or fraud to the Ministry and security authorities. Transparency and direct support at the community level remain essential to maintaining public trust. Furthermore, Commercial Officers and Focal Point Officers must actively assist young entrepreneurs during our upcoming sub-regional Hands-on Business Clinics. By directly integrating youth into these interactive sessions, we will ensure that these crucial resources reach the driven entrepreneurs they were created to transform, ultimately fueling inclusive, long-term economic growth across Uganda.

Spent another wonderful weekend alongside my fellow Members of Parliament, dedicated leaders, and passionate fans from across the country, once again proving that sports remain our ultimate unifier! My heartfelt appreciation goes to the MPs, local leaders, organizers, and incredible supporters who made the atmosphere electric. Congratulations to Lango Province on a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Bunyoro Province in Hoima, securing a well-deserved place in the FUFA Drum final! Commendations to the Bunyoro team and fans for their incredible effort, resilience, and sportsmanship throughout the match. As we look ahead to the final, we celebrate not just football, but the continued triumph of youth talent, empowerment, and regional unity.
