Tombili (Turkish for the word chubby) was a cat who lived in Istanbul, Turkey. Tombili would sit on the steps shown in the image above and look at passersby, which gained considerable interest from people on the internet and quickly became an online sensation. Sadly, Tombili died in August 2016 due to a severe illness, but a statue was placed in her honor. A month after it was revealed, the figure was stolen but was returned shortly afterward.
