The Kusama crypto protocol (and its better known cousin Polkadot) were both named after the celebrated artist whose death became public knowledge overnight.
Yayoi Kusama, the celebrated pop and minimalist art pioneer, has died aged 97. Across painting, sculpture, performance, and installations, her iconic artistic expression inspired millions. The KSM Initiative will remember every polka dot she brought to the world.

Here's a picture of an exciting Liverpool prospect, but most fans have never seen him play even though his debut was 14 months ago - and probably don't recognise him.

Just saw a nondescript female pensioner nonchalantly drop £191 on scratchcards and lottery tickets in Tesco. That is problem gambling right there, yet the authorities think it's middle-class men betting on horses and football.

I know nobody cares about the written word any more, but sometimes @BBCSport now seems to go out if its way to produce the most hideous prose imaginable.

That sound mix for Vicky Lopez was an absolute disgrace @DAZN Let's have her Spanish and the translation drowning each other out at the same time #BallonDor2026

In yesterday morning's perfect light, I took this snap on a 4yo smartphone. The patch of tarmac in the foreground is the old Croydon Airport runway from which Hurricanes and Spitfires were launched during the Battle of Britain. Those City skyscrapers are 11 miles away.

Micah Richards: "What if they win the appeal?" Sorry - I just don't think it's tenable him continuing as a pundit. Severely compromised, and in denial.
The media is finally saying it out loud

The sport of #F1 just died today. The current delay at the #BahrainGP is because the teams are "uploading new software from the FIA". Utterly absurd.

Manchester City can keep "disputing" the judgment all it likes, but that's largely irrelevant now, much like it is for a murderer whose neck is in the noose.
🚨 More details from Premier League statement on Manchester City. The independent Commission found that Manchester City arranged ‘sham’ commercial deals with a number of its sponsors during the period, which were part of a disguised funding scheme, whereby those companies were only required to pay a portion of the relevant sponsorship fees. The remainder was funded by Abu Dhabi United Group Investment & Development Ltd (ADUG), which owned the club. As part of the scheme, further ‘sham’ arrangements, funded by ADUG, were entered into to enable the club to record lower operating expenses than it actually incurred, as well as a ‘sham’ circular arrangement with Fordham, an entity that purchased the club’s players’ image rights, that was funded by ADUG. The purpose of these schemes was found to have been to artificially inflate the club’s revenues, and reduce its costs, by more than £900 million during the affected period, to appear to comply with financial rules. The consequence of this, as the Commission found, was that the club filed misstated accounts and concealed the true state of its finances from its auditors and football regulators. The Commission concluded that ‘by its conduct the club clearly intended to circumvent the PL Rules‘. As a result, Manchester City failed to accurately report its income and expenditure for the purposes of the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules and UEFA’s Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play Rules. The Commission found that, had all of the relevant agreements been reported accurately in the club’s accounts, it would have been in breach of both the League’s and UEFA’s spending limits by a very substantial amount.

There is nothing worse in sport than being found guilty of cheating. Lance Armstrong is a great predictor of how the world will come to look at Man City. No corporate sponsor outside of Abu Dhabi will touch this brand for a decade. No kid outside of the families of existing fans will wear the shirt. The light blue shirt and crest will be synonymous with cheating in the same way as the yellow Livestrong wrist band Game over. And good riddance.

Most of the opposition to drinking at football is rooted in the pure snobbery that thinms people who go to watch football all turn into raging yobs the minute they so much as sniff a pint of beer.
Andy Burnham loves returning Britain to the early 80s so much he wants to bring back football hooliganism

Not only do @EssexCricket have an alleged rapist on the playing staff (given a fresh contract AFTER the club was made aware he had been arrested), none of their players seem to be able to actually play the game any more.
