Every Single MLB organization should eliminate their analytics departments following this dominating performance by the Brewers in the World Series. Fact is you don’t win baseball games by either striking out or hitting home runs. You win baseball games by accumulating base runners. The entire premise of the movie “Moneyball” was to go after guys who could get on base NOT by relying on hitting home runs. Yes, this is coming from me, a guy who lived and breathed advanced stats and sabermetrics for over 20 years. Analytics are nothing more than a tiny tool in the toolbox and NOT some Holy Grail.
