How Gachagua is Destroying Political Careers of Mt Kenya Politicians who do Not Pass 'Loyalty Test' This is Githunguri MP Wamuchomba lamenting how Gachagua is 'fighting her, yet she has never wronged him'. She says that she has written him emails, but he didn't reply; sent him phone messages - he ignored them. What is quite sad about her situation is that she has not been fighting Gachagua. Rigathi is demanding total, fawning loyalty - something that is difficult for a person like MP Gathoni Wamuchomba to exhibit. This is because she is not naïve - she is a veteran journalist, who at one time had the most listened Radio program in Mt Kenya region. She is a person who through her media job got to know Gachagua very well - and knows he is a fraud. She has attempted to pledge loyalty to him - as he is now 'Mt Kenya Kingpin' - but Gachagua senses that she is only doing it 'to survive in politics'. This is a very big problem: That today, a Mount Kenya politician can no longer survive in politics, unless they pledge total, unwavering loyalty to Gachagua (and he must be convinced that the pledge 'comes from the heart'). Queuing to Pledge Loyalty to Gachagua As things stand, it is 'a given' that, to be elected in Mt Kenya in the next general elections, voters must perceive you as a politician who is completely loyal to Rigathi Gachagua. Due to this belief, people from the region who are planning to contest the elections, have been trooping to his Wamunyoro home & making sure that they take a photo with him. That photo of the politician with Gachagua is then posted on social media, to prove to voters that indeed the person has been 'blessed by Gachagua'. (a) Considering the number of seats - from MCA to Governor - these politicians & aspiring politicians in the region, who want to be elected in 2027, are in the thousands. Therefore, the waiting list to have private audience with Gachagua at his Wamunyoro home must be stretching back several months. (b) If you are a politician seeking a certain elective seat & you have already succeeded in meeting Gachagua & taking a photo together, it would be in your interest that potential opponents for the same seat do not get a chance to also visit him & take a photo. Is it possible that money is now exchanging hands - between these politicians & Gachagua's aides, in order to make sure their political opponents do not get opportunity to be 'publicly blessed' by Gachagua? (c) Are there politicians in Central who are paying substantial amounts of money to Rigathi's aides, in order to 'jump the queue'? DEFECTIONS The only guaranteed method a Mt Kenya politician (aspiring politician) to jump the queue & meet Gachagua quickly, is if he is defecting from Jubilee party to DCP. Technically, a cunning aspiring politician could today register as a Jubilee member & tomorrow send word to Rigathi's Team that he is a long-time Jubilee member, who wants to defect to DCP. The aides would organise for him to jump the queue & meet Gachagua as soon as possible. PROBLEM: If a politician is already active in another party - or is currently MCA/MP - the political parties they belong to is public knowledge & therefore they cannot use this trick to meet Gachagua quickly. That is a crisis in the Mountain, since there are many active politicians - who do not belong to Jubilee & therefore cannot jump the queue - whose chance to go to Wamunyoro to pledge loyalty, can only come too late. CONCLUSION This is not democracy. Mount Kenya people who reject this deification of an impeached politician, should join hands and publicly take on the bully.
