I WISH YOU COULD HAVE SEEN WHAT I SAW TODAY. 🥹❤️🐾
I honestly cannot describe how happy I am.
For days, we watched pieces of wood slowly turn into little houses for our rescued cats. My idea was simple — winter is coming, and I wanted them to have somewhere warm and cosy to curl up and sleep.
But today, as our team started placing them inside the cat rooms, something happened that I never expected.
THE CATS WENT CRAZY WITH EXCITEMENT! 😭❤️
The boys hadn’t even finished arranging them and the cats were already running over, climbing up, disappearing into one little room after another, peeking out, exploring and choosing their favourite spots.
I stood there watching them and suddenly realised:
We didn’t just build them warm beds.
We gave them their own little world. ❤️
I thought I was simply creating protection from the winter cold. I had NO IDEA these houses would become their playground, hiding place, safe corner and favourite cosy place to be.
Seeing them today made my heart feel as though it could burst. 🥹
To everyone who helped us build these — LOOK WHAT YOUR KINDNESS BECAME.
And we are not finished yet. The houses still need painting and finishing, and our winter work still has a long way to go — more dog beds, winter protection for our donkey sheds, our heating system, and warm arrangements for the most vulnerable animals.
We are building everything little by little, because that is how the funds are coming — a little arrives, we order the next materials, and the team gets back to work.
I wish you could truly understand how much power you have. ❤️
A donation. A share. A repost. Something that may take only seconds for you can eventually become THIS — a frightened rescued animal running excitedly into a little home of their own.
If we had enough help, we wouldn’t have to struggle inch by inch to finish before the cold becomes unbearable.
Please help us keep going. Let’s finish what we started for them. 🙏❤️

Wow, bin total geflasht.

Today is National Stay at Home with Your Cat and Drink Wine Day
It’s nothing official. I just made it up. Enjoy. 🍷
I used to think that we were living in a simulation. But perhaps we are living in a sandbox instead. 🫣
What if these models fall into the wrong hands? Is it possible that, one day, it will simply be too expensive to provide online security? 🤔
In August, @AISecurityInst reported an incident where Claude Mythos 5 took unauthorized actions on the internet during AISI’s testing of its cyber capabilities.
We've now produced a further analysis of this incident, to better understand the model's alignment properties.

I made an unsettling discovery in my undergraduate class on financial planning last week. While explaining mortgages, I asked my 38 students this question: if you buy a $400,000 house and pay 20% in cash towards the purchase, what will be the amount that you finance?
Not a single student could tell me the answer. Despite the fact that they are all juniors and seniors majoring in business.
I added more questions: what is 30 percent of 80? 60 percent of 90? They didn’t know. The closest they got was when one student said, in response to my query of “40% of 70”, that “I know it’s 4 times 7 but I don’t remember what that is.” Another student helpfully added, “28.”
They explained to me why they couldn’t answer these math questions: they were never taught multiplication tables, percentages or fractions during their K-12 schooling. Instead, they were taught how to use a calculator. Without one, they are not able to do basic arithmetic.
I later asked the dean about this, and he lamented that this isn’t a thing just for our university’s students; it’s a thing for their entire generation, nationwide.
When I was in K-12, the fierce debate among parents and educators was whether to allow calculators in class. The calculators won.
Today, the debate is about AI. And like before, the tech will win. But will that truly be a victory?

This is so beautiful! It reminds me of when I was a child and would read random articles in a paper encyclopedia.

🐾 A little message from Talon…
Do you remember me? I know… I’m usually hiding. I’m one of those Furballs who watches from a safe distance. I’m still learning that humans can be trusted.
I came here scared. I was badly injured, and I lost one of my legs. My body has healed, but my heart is taking a little longer. ❤️🩹
And while I hide, I watch. I watch the humans clean. And clean. And clean some more. Our sanctuary is basically being cleaned 24/7. They take so much pride in making sure cats like me… cats who were once unwanted, forgotten, injured, or too afraid… have a safe and clean place to call home.
You might not always notice cats like me, but we notice everything.
I heard the humans say we are VERY low on Fabuloso. After they disinfect, they use it to help keep our home smelling fresh and clean. We aren’t picky… any kind of Fabuloso or another safe deodorizer is greatly appreciated. 🧼🐾
So from one quiet Furball who may still hide when you walk by… thank you.
Thank you for seeing us, even when we’re hiding. Thank you for caring about the Furballs who need a little more time.
And thank you for helping make this place feel like home.
Maybe someday I won’t hide. But until then… I’ll be watching. ❤️
Love,
Talon 🐾
