🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷 Six days before the Iran strike window opens, Hegseth fired the general in charge of planning it
The Pentagon's chief planner on the Joint Staff, a three-star who commanded the 101st Airborne and carries six Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart, was pushed out this week with no explanation and no replacement named, the second man forced out of that job in a year.
Officials told The Atlantic Hegseth lost confidence in him and he didn't get on with policy chief Elbridge Colby.
He's at least the fifth general removed this year and one of 26 generals and admirals gone since Hegseth arrived, after the Army chief of staff was fired at the height of the spring strikes while his service was supposed to be restocking the interceptors now in short supply.
One more detail: X users noticed that the general's son, a FEMA analyst, had written something offensive after Charlie Kirk's killing, named the father, and told Hegseth to "review" his employment.
The son was put on leave then; the father is out now. Whatever the reason, the job he held is the link between CENTCOM's strike options, Pentagon policy and the White House, and it's empty the week Trump decides between a deal and a week of bombing.

The Sept. U.S. trade deficit in goods was $134.9 billion, the highest ever recorded in Sept. There were only three months in history when the deficit was higher, all under Trump in 2025.
Here are the facts. Measured by the size of our trade deficits, Trump has been the worst president in history on trade. The tariffs have been a complete failure. Not only have they failed to bring manufacturing back to the U.S., but the U.S. is now more dependent than ever on foreign producers. Not only are we importing more than ever, but we are now paying Trump's tariffs on those imports.
Trump says trade deficits represent a loss. Judged by his own standard, Trump is the biggest loser in the history of the presidency. Also, if the economy is booming as Republicans claim, why have our trade deficits gone way up? Why are the trade deficits under Trump so much larger than they were under Biden, when, according to Trump, we had the worst economy in U.S. history?
Here are the facts. When you compare Trump's first two years to Biden's last two, GDP growth and job creation are slower, inflation is higher, and budget and trade deficits are bigger. If Trump is right that under Biden we had the worst economy in history, and the Trump economy is objectively worse on all counts, then the Trump economy is now the worst economy in history.

BREAKING: The FAA has shut down airspace over the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site, with a notice calling it a “US Government Nuclear Incident," per SRS
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
SRS did not describe the event as a “US Government Nuclear Incident”; that phrasing is from the FAA TFR notice. SRS reported a contained fire with no off-site contamination.

So it seems Israel faces two main scenarios amid political gridlock: Netanyahu forming a coalition with Bennett, or Eisenkot with Palestinian parties, though he'll then lose Lieberman and likely his path to a majority.
And, in any case, Trump wants Netanyahu and will probably have his way.
The election itself was a telling reflection of the extremism, racism, exclusionary politics, and deeply undemocratic character of Israel's political system, where even the idea of governing with Palestinian parties is politically unacceptable, even at the cost of forfeiting power to your rival!

According to the book, Kushner got Tillerson fired for a $50 million UAE payment because Tillerson supported Qatar. This panicked Qatar because they realized Kushner was a pay-to-play operative, so they bought Kushner's New York City apartments, which were in the red, hoping this would help.

We’re watching this man’s mind disintegrate in real time. As he descends further into dementia, he increasingly succumbs to disinhibition. This is because his frontal lobe is literally shrinking. And he can no longer suppress his impulses to say things that he would never have said publicly even a year ago.
This is 255 seconds of the US President speaking in explicitly homoerotic terms—including simulated fellatio and ass-grabbing—about a candidate for Senate.
It’s difficult to watch—like a car accident. Try and read it.
“I said, wait a minute. You got to be kidding. He's like, very quiet. And I never really looked at him because it's never been my thing to look at men, but I like men, but I've never been particularly attracted. Sorry.
And what I do is I call like, I'm going to call Ken up, say a couple of words and he'll say a couple of words. So I called John up and again, John Gruden just, in fact, he said something that was amazing because he's such a fine man.
John used that is as the Senator, but he's running for reelection against a real sleazebag who got thrown out years ago, defeated by Bernie Marino, who's a great Senator, but he was defeated. So he was thrown and now he's running again against John. And I called John up, but John Gruden said one thing that got me and I couldn't believe it because you know, it's such a high quality person.
He said in the football games, he would rip people's heads off when he tackled them. He was so tough. He would just, I said, was he the best? He said he was the best player on the team. And that's why I'm here. I was surprised to see him. I said, what do you do there? I'm here to be with my teammate.
John Husted. He said, yeah, he was the best. He was an all American. And a few people understood that when I started talking about him, guy shot. He was an all American, sir. And so, but he was, he's a humble guy. So he didn't talk about it. So I brought him up and he started speaking. Thank you very much. Very much. And you know, he said a few words and I was standing right here and I'm studying him because John Gruden is a great coach.
One of the best said that this guy's one of the best players he's ever been associated with. Best player on a championship team, all America. And I never knew he even played football. So I'm studying him.
And I made the mistake of saying that I started off by studying his ass. I just want to say.
And then I looked at his feet and they were massive. Then I looked at his hands, see these hands.
He's a nice head. They're fine. He had fingers like sausages. I looked at his hands. I said, look at it guys.
And then I patted him on the shoulder. I said, great job, John. He said a few words. I said, great job. And I hurt my hand. It was like I was hitting steel, but I made the mistake of studying his anatomy and explaining it to the audience and the audience loved it. By the way, he went up 12 points that day.
He went from being down to being up. Maybe I should do that with Ken Paxton, but I'm not sure your body is going to qualify. I'm going to do it with Ken. No, but I would say so what happens is so John leaves. I told us everybody had fun, you know, but the people appreciate it because they didn't know. A lot of them didn't know. 95% didn't know.
And the fake news did it to me. They only covered the ass part.
They said, they said, this is news cable freaks. And I think ABC fake news, one of the worst. And they said, what the hell was Trump doing talking about a man's anatomy? What, what's his problem? What's why is he doing this?
And I explained it. He was talking about his ass and his feet. What was he doing? You know what I was in and they know, but they actually had me and they'd only say I studied his ass after that.
It was to see where the power came from because he was a violent tackler anyway, but they did it to me beautifully. That's no different than walking into walls and saying, Oh, my wife said, Oh my, are you okay, darling? So no, they're fake news. That's why I came up with that term.
That was my term. We have a lot of good terms. I could give you a lot of them. Pocahontas.”

Reese's Pieces have no chocolate in them. The peanuts had their oil pressed out and a cheaper fat put back in.
Sugar is first, then partially defatted peanuts, then hydrogenated palm kernel and soybean oil, then corn syrup solids. Everything after that is 2% or less, and it's the dyes, the glaze, some vanillin and a little milk. There's no cocoa anywhere.
Partially defatted just means the peanuts went through a press. The peanut oil comes out one side and gets sold as peanut oil. What's left is a dry peanut flour, and that's what the center is made from, because flour holds a shape in a panning drum and doesn't go rancid. Then they put fat back in, and the fat they picked is hydrogenated palm kernel oil, which is solid at room temperature and costs less than peanut oil. You can see the swap on the panel. 38 pieces have 6 g of fat and all 6 are saturated. Peanut oil is mostly unsaturated, so that number isn't the peanut.
The shell is sugar with 4 dyes and a coat of shellac.

The biggest mistake tourists make in Japan is dragging a fifty-pound suitcase up and down subway stairs.
Watch how Japanese travelers board the bullet train. They walk on with a cup of green tea, a small shoulder bag, and both hands free.
Where is their luggage? It is already in the next city, waiting for them.
In Japan, the system is called Takkyubin, recognizable everywhere by a logo of a mother black cat carrying her kitten gently in her mouth.
When you check out of your hotel in Tokyo at eight in the morning, you hand your heavy suitcase to the front desk, fill out a tiny slip, and pay about twenty dollars. You can even send it straight from the corner convenience store.
Then you spend the entire day wandering through mountain temples or eating street food with nothing on your back.
When you walk into your traditional inn in Kyoto that evening, your suitcase is already standing neatly in your room, wiped clean, with the handle turned toward you.
In fifty years of handling millions of bags a year, lost luggage is virtually unheard of.
A society runs smoothly when you can hand your belongings to a stranger at a convenience store and know they will beat you to your hotel.
His dad lost and hauled ass to Orlando now the son is doing the same. All conmen end up here in Florida.
