Brother there is now infighting between Masseffect fans and BioWare fans over the petition not mentioning whether people are signing up for saving BioWare ALONG with the IP or only Mass Effect.
I can't bruh, it ended before it even began. It's over.
You know, the more we get to hear about Mass Effect Universe, the more it gives me hope that maybe the next game could've been a great successor to the trilogy.
It seems Bioware really wanted to make a great RPG. Kind of sucks thinking what could've been...
"The Music That Might Have Been"
Austin Wintory, renowned composer behind games like Journey, releases 22 minutes of early Mass Effect 5 musical drafts from his pitch to compose the game:
"Working on Mass Effect 5 was my career's biggest dream project, my white whale. It is my favorite franchise of all time, and for the last couple years I'd been in serious conversations with BioWare and EA to jump in.
My suggestion was to treat the original game's masterful Jack Wall/Sam Hulick score as a starting point, and to build on it from there with deeper use of physical, analog synths and a more tightly interwoven use of the orchestra. But a love letter first and foremost (not unlike my approach to the Aliens franchise with Fireteam Elite).
As part of the ongoing dialogue, I decided last year (2025) to surprise the folks with an elaborate production: nearly 20 minutes of music, fully recorded and produced with synths, vocals and a large orchestra here in LA. I'd not yet learned any narrative details of what they were planning so this was just pure musical exploration.
Receiving the news alongside everyone else that EA had decided to not only cancel the project but shutdown BioWare entirely was a deeply felt loss. It's been hard to see dear friends lose their jobs, and this beloved franchise seemingly vanish forever.
Thank you nonetheless to everyone at BioWare and EA's music department for gifting me the chance to dream in your sandbox. It was a privilege to do even that much."

For those interested, it seems #GodzillaMinusZero is indefinitely postponed in India. Despite previous Godzilla franchises doing quite well & unprecedented audience interest, they’re being forced to make a move.

I am sorry, no disrespect to the team making the game, or the game as a whole.
I just don't find Exodus appealing. It's the design. I genuinely don't like them.
Which sucks because I was very much excited for the game when it first revealed. Until I saw the gameplay.
We may not get another Mass Effect before 2030-2040... or at all.
But a Mass Effect-like is on the way. Key ex-BioWare staff have long been at Archetype Ent. working on @EXODUSGame
Exodus is a sci-fi space opera RPG, and also features a morality system (Paladin/Immortal).
Some of the key staff experience:
- Chad Robertson (prev. BioWare head of tech/studio director)
- Drew Karpyshyn (lead writer ME1, ME2, KOTOR)
- Jess Sky (creative director/designer, Old Republic)
- Plenty of other high-level experience via DICE, Retro Studios, Naughty Dog, Bungie and beyond.
Releases April 7, 2027 on PC, PS5, Xbox.
