Micron $MU has paused construction of its planned $4.5B memory chip plant in Taiwan amid a prolonged labor dispute, Bloomberg reports. The facility was expected to begin producing DRAM and HBM chips in 2028. Workers are demanding higher compensation, including a proposal to distribute 15% of Micron's operating profits to employees globally. Micron says its existing Taiwan operations continue as normal. Taiwan currently accounts for roughly 60% of the company's global DRAM output.
