I think atp anyone who brings up the 'plight of jews' and urges their safety esp in regards to palestine should be disregarded

Of course it isn't 'all' but you could use that argument for whites in Rhodesia or white Americans during slavery or Germans during Nazi rule.

What you are doing by introducing this is trying to muddy the waters.
The American midterms and subsequent (probable) victory for their Democratic Party might be bad news if the downfall of the empire is the goal though the same might have been true for a Republican victory.
Competence *incompetence is key if the decline should continue to hasten.
With competent liberals/social democrats in charge they might try to mend the rift caused by the current US admin (though I think it is already too late on many fronts) and hence reconcile those rightfully angry with Americas conduct in regards to e.g. palestine to compromise.
These are definitely better picks than the initial ones that surfaced.
Even though I would prefer someone lesser known I would probably go with Pattinson because he's a great actor and I think is the right age. Most of the others look a bit too young and fresh-faced to be Bond.
I wouldn't be wholly unhappy with any of these though tbh. At least it isn't Aaron Taylor Johnson or Henry Cavill.
