The best days of your life should always be ahead of you, not behind you Lots of people talk about their college years or their 20s being the best, or being the prime of their life, or whatever There’s some truth to that but also, like, why would you ever try and live a life where your best years are over with so soon? I’m 38 this year, and life has never been better I’m excited for my 40s and 50s and 60s and beyond I’m gonna get to experience new things, travel to new places, start new hobbies or business endeavours, make new friends, hopefully grow my family, and all of this on top of enjoying all the things I currently do in life Life is great and it’s possible for it to only get better as you get older.. the trade offs are some extra random aches and pains and saggy skin for a lifetime of built up wisdom and knowledge about who you are, what you like, and what you want out of life

It’s funny that the male conclusion to any worries or fear about the future is ā€œI need to get rich and jackedā€

In college, everyone tells you to savor the moment and that you will never be this young again You hear it, perhaps even nod along, but it doesn’t quite register. The illusion of youth feels infinite, untouched by time and an endless road Then a few years slip quietly by. Life begins to demand more of you. You slowly start to understand what people meant when they said that You tell yourself that you still have time. You will come back to do all the things you promised yourself Just one more challenging project at work, just one more promotion, just one more birthday, and you will get to it Then one day you wake up and half a decade or decade has passed by, and youth feels like a dream from a generation ago Over the years, the one lesson I have learned is that life passes you by extremely fast. If you are waiting to do something, go act on it today

Smartphone haters: waaaah I have no self control waaah I am like a child Smartphone enjoyers: I wonder what was the best-selling pastry of 1958
I think it's not weird that we spend a lot of time with the little machine that lets us read any book, watch any movie, hear any song, and talk to anyone we ever met

Sam Altman raising $7 trillion makes it easier for me to come out and say that I need to raise or mobilize about $3 trillion a year (for 20 years) in order to restore all of the worldʻs forests, which would be one of best things we could do for climate change and biodiversity.

"Eat at a local restaurant tonight. Get the cream sauce. Have a cold pint at 4 o’clock in a mostly empty bar. Go somewhere you’ve never been. Listen to someone you think may have nothing in common with you. Order the steak rare. Eat an oyster. Have a negroni. Have two. Be open to a world where you may not understand or agree with the person next to you, but have a drink with them anyways. Eat slowly. Tip your server. Check in on your friends. Check in on yourself. Enjoy the ride." ~Anthony Bourdain H/T C.G. Stewart

Another life hack Splurge on 1-off consumption goods, not on fixed consumption (relative to your fiat balance sheet) What ties you down is not "special dinner w/partner or the special vacation with your crew" but the monthly loan payments on your "unnecessarily expensive car"

Roughly 15 years ago, many people: ā€œUsing the internet on a phone sucks. It’s too hard & it’ll never catch on.ā€ Me, today: *watches my 75 year old mom post pics of her grandson to FB* HW wallet UI/UX will improve. Basically everyone is capable of using one.
My semi-hot take is that people can learn to use a hardware wallet

1/ On Memories, On Silicon My dad bought me my first camera when I was 7 and started an obsession. Over time, I took hundreds, then thousands, then tens of thousands, finally hundreds of thousands of photos. Why? Why did I shoot?
