Walking down the 176 steps of North Ronaldsay lighthouse, the tallest land based lighthouse in the UK. The lighthouse was designed by Alan Stevenson and constructed in 1852. The height is 42m (138ft). I think it was easier climbing up instead of coming back down. #lighthouse

Orkney’s northern tip. Sheep eating seaweed. In 1832 the islanders built a 13-mile wall to keep them off the grass. The sheep adapted. Now they graze kelp Storms dump extra food. Their guts changed. Too much grass can poison them. Tiny. Ancient. Still out on the rocks.
