Oroco Connects the Next Generation with Mining
Oroco's local operations team welcomed students from COBAES 09 High School in Choix, Mexico, for an educational tour of the Santo Tomás Copper Project's core storage and logging facilities.
The team provided students with firsthand insight into mineral exploration and the technical and professional disciplines involved in advancing a mining project.
Students also learned about the potential economic and social benefits of future mine development for local communities.

Oroco believes getting to school shouldn’t depend on where you live.
For students in 5 rural communities of Choix, Mexico, where Oroco's Santo Tomás Copper Project is located, reliable school transportation was an ongoing challenge. Until now, the municipality had relied on government vehicles to help students get to school.
To help address this issue, Oroco and our operating partner, Minera Tempisque, purchased and donated a dedicated school bus to the Municipality of Choix.
The bus will benefit more than 35 families across Los Chinos, Techobampo, El Cedrito, El Nacimiento and Mezquite Caído, providing reliable transportation.
Under Mayor Yoneida Gámez Vázquez’s leadership, the municipality will cover ongoing operating and maintenance costs.
