Patriarch Bartholomew has Fr. Peter derangement syndrome
In an interview with the Union of Orthodox Journalists, the American priest and theologian Fr. Peter Heers revealed that his scheduled talk at “DIMITRIA 2026” on Elder Ephraim of Arizona was cancelled following an intervention by the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
According to Fr. Peter, the talk, which had been scheduled for October 11, 2026, was cancelled by order of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. He said that the organisers informed him of the decision at the very last moment, at 3:30 p.m., only three hours before the event was due to begin, telling him simply that he could not speak because the Patriarchate did not want the talk to take place.
He stressed that he does not know the reason behind the decision and expressed his wondering as to who, and for what reason, would not want a talk about Elder Ephraim to be heard.
At the same time, he noted that whoever made the decision should at least, out of a sense of consideration, have thought about those who had travelled from the other side of the world, as well as those who had come specifically to hear about the Elder.
He further emphasised that the subject of his talk concerned the work of Elder Ephraim carried out within the Patriarchate itself and within the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, through which the fruits of the Elder’s labours and the greatness of the Church would have been highlighted.
“May it be blessed,” and “May God forgive,” Fr. Peter concluded.

We often celebrate new conversions to the Orthodox Church, and rightfully so. But what we don’t celebrate enough is those who have lasted decades in the Faith. Coming up on three years in the Church, each passing year is more challenging. There’s a reason we pray for “a Christian ending to our life” every liturgy, a phrase that’s always resonated with me. I’ve watched too many devoted brothers fall away. So next time you see that seasoned Orthodox Christian at your parish, congratulate them. Inform them of the inspiration they are to all of us.

I am very proud of how the Orthodox community has responded to the anti-American, anti-White, and anti-Nationalist rhetoric that has begun to spread like cancer. No more. It’s ok to love America and be Orthodox. It’s ok to honor your White ancestry and be Orthodox. And it’s MORE THAN OK to be a Nationalist and Orthodox.
