#BrightPathStrong wishes everyone a safe and happy New Year and a prosperous 2024! ⚡️
This week in 1912, New York City held a parade to honor Team USA, who’d just returned from the Stockholm Games! 🇺🇸 Other Olympians walked in the parade, but Jim Thorpe and his bounty of medals and trophies were the main draw! 🥇🥇🏆 A true American hero! #BrightPathStrong ⚡️
#ThisDayInHistory - The 1912 Stockholm Games featuring kick off! 🥇🥈🥉The opening ceremony was MUCH different, mostly because events in the 1912 Games were held during the day. That’s because electricity 💡to light the stadium 🏟️ was not yet widely available. ⚡️#BrightPathStrong
Happy 85th birthday Billy Mills! 🎈🥳🎂🎁 Billy is Oglala Sioux and his gold medal win 🥇 in the 1964 Tokyo Games is still considered one of the greatest upsets of all time! 🏃🏽♂️A virtual unknown at the time, Billy was the first non-European to win the 10,000M run! HBD Billy!! 🥳
Jim Thorpe may have been a track and football star, but he was also a phenomenal baseball player! ⚾ In honor of the Men’s College World Series, here’s a photo of his 1908 Carlisle Indians baseball team. Good luck to those competing in #Omaha this week! ⚡ #BrightPathStrong

Today is a somber day as we mark 70 years since Jim Thorpe left us. But it’s also an opportunity to remember the Greatest of All-Time, and take a moment to honor his accomplishments and legacy. ⚡️ #BrightPathStrong #GOAT
