If you missed the testimony of Renee Good’s mom to Congress, I recommend checking it out. She is a registered republican and voted for Trump. But her testimony is why I believe in the collective at this time.

On Constitution Day, we celebrate the document at the heart of our American experiment — and recommit to the principles it protects. The Constitution is more than words on parchment. It’s our shared responsibility to uphold the rule of law and defend our institutions.

Voters are the bosses, but too often we give lawmakers too much deference. In this clip from Principally Speaking, @JRultenberg breaks down why systemic change starts when we remember who holds the real power. YouTube: youtu.be/fq_b3r2qNWo Spotify: open.spotify.com/episode/2CS…

As the Senate considers Acting AG Todd Blanche, all eyes are on swing votes like Sen. Lisa Murkowski. Will the Senate hold the line on institutional integrity, or let policy payouts dictate the DOJ? politico.com/news/2026/07/22…

At 5 AM, the Senate passed a $70B border package, but the real knife fight was behind closed doors. Lawmakers narrowly defeated a permanent ban on the admin's $1.8B slush fund. Why? Because Congress doesn't trust the Executive to leave the purse strings alone.

As we approach Memorial Day Weekend, the average price of gas is $4.53 per gallon compared to $3.18 a year ago. We deserve leaders who prioritize our cost of living over retribution against colleagues with dissenting opinions.

If true, this is operationally significant and, IMO, the correct moral stance for a nation that's both a democracy and subject to the rule of law. Both the B-1s and B-52s can rain 1000 lb and 2000 lb JDAMs & hit multiple aim points. And no, I'm not *rooting* for Iran; I just don't want to see America commit wanton war crimes. The British aren't stabbing us in the back; friends don't let friends drive drunk.
The United Kingdom will refuse to allow the United States to use its airbases, particularly RAF Fairford and Diego Garcia which long-range strategic bombers with the U.S. Air Force have previously utilized on a case-by-case basis to carry out strikes on Iran, for missions that target Iranian bridges, power plants, or other civilian infrastructure, citing concerns that such strikes could harm civilians and constitute war crimes, senior officials tell The i Paper.

I wonder if this reporter and I were at the same summit. Yes, some of us disagree on tactics looking ahead to 2028. But we are united in themes, priorities, passion, and purpose. Most of all: on putting our #PrinciplesFirst. Do better, @NYT. nytimes.com/2026/02/22/us/po…

Thank you to all the @Principles_1st organizers and volunteers for putting together this weekend’s summit! It was a pleasure sharing ideas, spending time together, and getting to know so many of you. Now it’s time to head home and get back to work standing up for our principles!
“The leaders in this room need to understand that the moment we are living in is not defined by Donald Trump—it is defined by us and the choices that we are going to make as a nation. Trump and our supposed leaders draw our attention to everything but the challenges we face. They draw our attention to their personalities, vendettas and performative antics—and while they have done that, America’s infrastructure has fallen to 13th globally. While we were alienating our allies because they did not give us the Nobel Peace Prize, our kids fell to the middle of the pack among developed nations in science and math education outcomes. These are not abstract statistics. They are the real-world costs of a country that has been distracted for far too long from its own future—from the future of the people in this room, our kids, our families. That has been the cost of the last 10 years of our politics. And, unfortunately, that is by design. The chief bet being made by China, Russia and every authoritarian country watching us right now is that American democracy is too chaotic, too self-referential, too divided to focus on a singular goal long enough to see it through. We cannot let them be right about that.”
