McDavid left $8 million on the table to be able to bring in depth. Bowman has fumbled McDavids prime years so hard. Inexcusable.
okay this is just getting ridiculous now

The rule for faceoff violations becoming a penalty specifically says a hand. Doesn’t look like it was Matthews’ hand that touched the puck. From the rulebook: When It Becomes a 2-Minute Penalty Faceoff violations escalate into minor penalties under three distinct scenarios: Two Violations on the Same Faceoff (Rule 76.7): If the same team commits a second faceoff violation during the exact same faceoff sequence, the referee assesses a 2-minute bench minor for Delay of Game – Face-off Violation. (Note: Violation counts reset after every successful puck drop; they do not carry over from earlier faceoffs in the game.) Playing the Puck with the Hand (Rule 76.5 / 67.2): Neither center involved in the actual draw is permitted to bat or play the puck with their hand until a third player has touched it. Doing so results in an immediate 2-minute minor penalty on the offending center for Delay of Game (Face-off Violation – Batting Puck with Hand) without a warning. Slow Proceeding to Face-off Location (Rule 76.7): If a player is slow getting to the faceoff location and is in an offside position when the linesperson is ready to drop the puck, the offending team receives one formal warning per game (communicated to the coach). Any subsequent infraction by that team at any point in the game results in a 2-minute bench minor for Delay of Game – Slow Proceeding to Face-off Location.

This is what a team looks like. #Leafs
Auston Matthews on Easton Cowan taking the blame for the loss: “We win as a team and lose as a team. It’s not on one individual guy. I took 2 penalties with less than 10 minutes to go when we’re trying to tie up the game. “There’s a number of factors that go into losses and wins. We stick together as a team. It’s all 20 guys that were on the ice, and we’ve got to be better in different areas. But it’s definitely not on one guy.” 🎥: @MapleLeafs #leafs

That’s a total BS call. Matthews barely used his hand on that draw. Officiating in this game has been awful. #Leafs

Keep the pressure on, now within one. Like I’ve said before, this team doesn’t give up that easily. Battling and fighting hard to get back into it. #Leafs

Again, Bob has to have that. Hasn’t looked great this game when his team needed him to make a save. #Leafs

Ugly turnover from Cowan. He has looked great to this point, but this has been a rough start for him in this game. #Leafs

Even with battling injuries & the flu, the Carolina Hurricanes managed to finish with a 3-1-1 record during the NC State Fair road trip. The road trip showed that culture overcomes adversity with earning 7 out of a possible 10 points. @TheHockeyWriter🔗: thehockeywriters.com/hurrica…
