Sublime Bach’s B minor Mass from Collegium Vocale & Philippe Herreweghe. That’s what you get when you live with this music your whole life & never cease to love it. I must mention Alex Potter who was truly outstanding but so were Dorothee Mields, Guy Cutting & Johannes Kammler.

This graph, from the recent Brass Bands England report, needs to be more widely shared. More droplets and aerosol particles were recorded for Breathing (the blue line) than for Singing (the pink line).

Excellent podcast by @NicolaKSDavis (@guardian) discussing the ongoing research looking at aerosol production by singers and wind/brass players. Prof Jonathan Reid (@BristolUni) providing supremely clear explanations of the issues. @surgeonsinger @chiggi theguardian.com/science/audi…

Please tell us how you plan, in practical terms, to support the sector which has been devastated by this pandemic. Of course people are turning to culture at a difficult time, but there’s real danger that there’ll be none of it left if you and your government don’t act now.
🎻 Our culture and creativity are Britain’s greatest strengths so I want them to be open to all 🎺 Really encouraging stat from @BBCArts #CultureinQuarantine about how younger people are turning to orchestral music during lockdown

You will not fuck with my children’s future. You will not destroy the freedoms my grandfather fought two world wars to defend. Fuck off you over-promoted rubber bath toy. Britain is revolted by you and you little gang of masturbatory prefects.
To invest in our NHS, deal with violent crime and cut the cost of living we need a Queen’s Speech.

After the contempt May today showed for Parliament, it’s up to Parliament to treat that behaviour with equal contempt. Time for MPs this week to take power away from the PM on Brexit. Are they up to it?

The PM says “if you don’t want no deal you have to vote for a deal”, in other words her flawed, job destroying deal. This is a lie and she knows it. We can avoid leaving with no deal on 29 March by requesting an extension to the Article 50 process - that is what she must do.
