For someone who likes to preach about the power of completions, Kevin O'Connell's obsession with trying to get explosive plays prevents him from being a good play-caller Yes, Kyler Murray missed plenty of throws and open WRs vs. the Lions, no one is arguing against that But help the guy out a bit and give him some easy throws to simply just move the chains instead of a play like this where his only real options are two WRs running 20+ yards down the field on a 2nd and 7 This is just a literal waste of a down Why even call a play like this in this situation? Explosives are fun, sure, but more of the focus should be on getting first downs and extending drives
