The Blue Envelope Program
At the Loveland Police Department, every interaction matters.
For many people, a traffic stop feels inconvenient. Sometimes, stressful. For others, including individuals with autism or other communication differences, it can quickly become overwhelming.
Thatโs why weโre excited to offer the Blue Envelope Program.
This simple program helps drivers keep important documents together while discreetly letting an officer know they may benefit from a little extra time, clear instructions, or a different communication approach. Better communication reduces stress, creates greater understanding, and supports safer interactions for everyone involved.
We know many families in our community include someone with unique communication needs. This program offers one more way to build trust and strengthen the partnership between our officers and the people we serve.
If you or someone you know could benefit from the Blue Envelope Program, stop by the Loveland Police Department Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or ask any Loveland police officer for one during a non-emergency contact.
Sometimes, the smallest resources make the biggest difference.

Cooking with a Cop๐
๐งโ๐ณ ๐ฎ
Douglas County Sheriffโs Office School Resource Office Burriesci recently put on his apron, that of course has a badge on it, at Sedalia Elementary, joining students for a special "Cooking with a Cop" class!
Thanks to the schoolโs incredible sustainability program, they had fresh tomatoes and basil right in their garden to make grilled caprese sandwiches.
Together with the students, our deputies took orders from Deputy Burriesci, cleaning, chopping, marinating, and assembling some truly delicious results.
Grazie to Sedalia Elementary for having us and for reminding us that community, cooking, and connection make the perfect recipe! ๐

Justice. Kindness. Humility.
ย
Three words. One commitment. Every day.
ย
Behind the badge, beyond the uniform, and throughout our community, these values guide the work our officers do. From the moments everyone sees to the quiet acts of service few ever notice, the mission remains the same: serve with integrity, treat people with compassion, and lead with humility.
ย
We donโt get every moment perfect, but we strive for excellence, showing up, doing the work, and hoping to make a difference.
ย
Because public safety means more than enforcing the law. It means educating, earning trust, and building relationships.
ย
It matters, Loveland. You deserve it.

๐ SPD DRIVER TRAINING AT FLATROCK! ๐
Putting some of our older patrol vehicles back to work today at Flatrock!
Sterling PD officers spent the day sharpening their driving skills through low-speed maneuvering courses and high-speed track exercises.
These training days give officers an opportunity to improve their vehicle handling, decision-making, and driving skills in a controlled environment.
And itโs always good to give the older fleet a little action! ๐๐จ
Good day to train!

๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐! ๐ธ๐ถ
Throughout October, the Broomfield Police Department Traffic Unit will be spending extra time patrolling crosswalks throughout Broomfield to help keep pedestrians safe!
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), in 2024, a pedestrian was killed every 74 minutes and another was injured every 7 minutes in traffic crashes across the United States. A few important safety reminders:
๐ถโโ๏ธ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐:
๐ถ Don't let a familiar route put you on autopilot.
๐ถโโ๏ธ Keep your eyes up and avoid distractions.
๐ถ Use crosswalks whenever possible.
๐ถโโ๏ธ Stay visible and continue watching for vehicles.
๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐:
๐ Slow down and always watch for pedestrians.
๐ Yield at crosswalks as required by law.
๐ Leave plenty of room so other drivers can see too.
๐ Use extra caution at night and during bad weather.
๐ Follow posted speed limits.
๐ Always check for pedestrians before backing up.
Whether you're walking or driving, staying alert and following the rules of the road can help prevent serious injuries and save lives.

Congratulations to K9 Zohan, who celebrated his retirement today alongside some of his K9 friends from surrounding law enforcement agencies! Zohan has actually been enjoying retired life for several months, but today BPD had the chance to officially say thank you and goodbye to one very good boy. ๐ถ
During his career with Officer Cornett, Zohan:
โ๏ธ Conducted 455 vehicle sniffs
โ๏ธ Assisted in 316 arrests
โ๏ธ Helped seize more than 3,000 grams of meth
โ๏ธ 1,200 grams of fentanyl
โ๏ธ 1,100 grams of cocaine
โ๏ธ 185 grams of MDMA
โ๏ธ 40 grams of heroin
โ๏ธ Helped recover 21 firearms
โ๏ธ Helped seize more than $77,000 in cash
โ๏ธ Assisted in 24 suspect surrenders
โ๏ธ And had just TWO bites during his career!
Pretty impressive numbers for a guy who now plans to spend his days napping, eating and enjoying retirement while continuing to live with Officer Cornett. His replacement, Louie, has already completed training and is enjoying taking over the watch from Zohan.
Oh, and Deputy Chief Stutson took one last "bite" to the arm from Zohan while wearing the protective sleeve. ๐
