The photo used here, Larson has already achieved the pass anyways. And for the record, Haley was penalized unfairly. So was Regan Smith.

Two things from NASCAR:
1. They looked at the SMT data and Stenhouse, Byron and Custer were all wide open from Turn 3 to the end of the race (none of them lifted to let Larson win, in other words)
2. They say Larson's left-side tires were on the yellow line but never below the yellow line. So they reviewed that and say it's legal.

Chevrolet swept the top six finishers at Talladega:
1st - Kyle Larson
2nd - William Byron
3rd - Ricky Stenhouse Jr
4th - Ross Chastain
5th - Cole Custer
6th - Carson Hocevar
This is the first time a manufacturer swept the top six in a Cup race since Phoenix in November 2013
Based on looking through stats in any non Playoff era no driver has lost the Cup championship with a lead as much as Larson has (73 points) so it appears the title is locked up with two races left in the season
Whether we like it or not and believe me there was SO much to dislike about this race, these insane finishes are Talladega’s calling card - 13 straight different winners at this track
