with 12 days until the midterm elections, the entire republican party has coalesced around attacking a woman for having been raped by her stepfather when she was twelve
Trump: "Vivek Ramaswamy put up a very powerful Ad about a mother saying that her daughter, Amy Acton, who is running for Governor of Ohio, is a liar, and much worse. The Press, in a concerted and well coordinated attack, is trying to get Vivek Ramaswamy to 'take down the Ad.' Frankly, anybody whose mother spoke about a daughter in that way would normally lead to the daughter being precluded from serving in Office"

With #NoMansSky coming to iOS, I thought it was time to update my fun list of all the platform combinations we support after more than 10 years of development! It’s a long list, which I hope gives a sense of the mad complexity involved in releasing and maintaining a large cross-platform game like ours:
PS4 (Base)
PS4 (Base, PSVR)
PS4 Pro (×2 - 1080p/4K modes)
PS4 Pro (PSVR)
PS5 (Base)
PS5 (Base, PSVR2)
PS5 (PSVR, running the enhanced PS4 version)
PS5 Pro
PS5 Pro (8K)
PS5 Pro (PSVR2)
Xbox One / Xbox One S
Xbox One X (×4 : Quality/Perf × 1080p/4K modes)
Xbox Series S/X (×4 : Quality/Perf × 1080p/4K modes)
PC (over 200 combinations of graphics options - DLSS, frame generation, FSR etc and all the quality settings.)
PC (Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Integrated graphics)
PCVR (around 15 supported headsets, with most of the same options as flat mode)
PCVR (eye-tracked foveated rendering for Steam Frame, Pimax, Meta Quest Pro headsets)
Mac (a similar range of options, with development support from The Forge Interactive across all Apple platforms)
Switch (Handheld)
Switch (TV mode)
Switch 2 (Handheld)
Switch 2 (TV mode)
iPhone 11-18
iPad Air 3–iPad Pro M5
This is a simplified breakdown from a graphics engine and platform perspective, without counting major systems like networking, input and audio…
There are also many other integrated graphics paths, including HDR, VRR and dynamic resolution scaling (DRS) on consoles and handhelds. On PC, there are optimisations for CPU instruction sets such as AVX and AVX2, alongside fast paths for each specific GPU vendor.
All created and maintained in a single unified codebase by the systems and engine team at Hello Games.

Thanks @ronscompvids!
I got a Pulse Splitter upgrade, to make my shooting more effective, but found a progress blocker bug (reported it to Zendesk):
On my previous attempt of derelict freighter, I found the manifest, but going back in, the checkbox is unchecked.
Tried Expedition 23 in #NoMansSky.
Died repeatedly to sentinel drones in the derelict freighter.
Gave up, went back to my primary save. 🙄
@NoMansSky Once again, asking for Expedition rewards to become paid for DLC for those of us who are unable to complete them. 😕🙏🏼

In a study, various AI models were told to complete a children’s story about different anthropomorphised animals with unstated gender. The models either avoided gendering the characters (57.2%) or made them male (40.6%). In only 2.2% stories did the characters became female.

Video game discourse has been completely ruined on this website to the point I legitimately see people say things like “I’m not going to play this game anymore” because they’ve seen a grifter say something like this or spread false info / half truths.

Riddle me this. If somebody donates £36 million to a political party and £5 million to its leader, how is the £5 million not political? Asking for a parliamentary standards commissioner.
