Venice is a traditional company with equity. This was true before we sold 8.98% of the company, and it's true today.
Venice also has a token base:0xacfe6019ed1a7dc6f7b508c02d1b04ec88cc21bf, usable by customers within our app, and also as the target of our acquisition for burning.
Why are the incentives not misaligned with equity holders?
1. Because those who are equity holders also happen to be the largest holders of VVV, both indirectly as the entity holds the plurality of tokens, and directly through personal ownership. More than half of all VVV are held by equity owners of Venice, and this portion has increased over time both in percentage terms and in aggregate.
Show me any other project for which that last statement is true.
2. Because we've said exactly what we're going to do, both to our community of VVV holders and to the recent investors: we are going to grow our business, take a portion of revenue, and buy and burn as many tokens as we can.
We do this burn not to be altruistic, but in our self-interest (see #1).
Is the fear among crypto twitter that 8.98% of Venice equity holders will demand revenues are distributed as dividends instead of burns?
Let's think this through. First, they can't command such a thing as a minority. But more importantly, they won't, because they know what our intentions are and that's precisely why they invested. It's why they demanded direct token exposure through vesting warrants in addition to the indirect exposure through the treasury. It is on this understanding of our plans that 8.98% of the company was sold.
Surely there are many bad ways to do token/equity designs. Ultimately, regardless of intent, incentives win the day, and we have formed ours intentionally, and transparently.

Imagine receiving a ZIP-file but you don't have an unZIP app. The "onchfs" gateway would be that app.
@ciphrd, please correct me if I'm wrong about this summary, and sorry for the harsh words but I do feel a bit misled.
Crypto.nft retweeted
I can't imagine what's the use of "onchfs" being "on chain" in the first place, except that the words are in the name so you could say it's "technically on chain" while missing all of the reasons why people would want to store things on chain.

If I had released "Blokkendoos" on IPFS, maybe it wouldn't have been "technically on chain", but it'd be accessible right now and in the future. If I had known better how any of this worked, it would have been obvious to me that "onchfs" wouldn't have longevity like IPFS or (..)

AN OPEN LETTER TO @YouTube AND NEAL MAHON.
Dear @YouTube
I built a media business that broadcasts on your platform.
Our business has exploded and we are growing rapidly.
We have over 1,1m subscribers.
We employ over 100 people globally and we work tirelessly to deliver on our mission of building the most profitable community in the world.
Despite our success,
I am constantly anxious. I don’t sleep at night and I am scared to scale my business.
Why?
It’s not because of any real market or business risk.
It’s because I know that at any moment I could get a Youtube strike, or a series of strikes , that may force me to close the entire business overnight and destroy my work and that of my 100 employees.
Even though our channel hasn’t been affected , many of our partner channels and fellow creators have suffered this fate.
As one of the larger players in the industry, I feel I have a duty and an obligation to take on this fight.
100s of crypto content creators are making the same videos they have made for years, with similar content and style, only now they are getting strikes or being deplatformed.
And the worst parts,
1. They have absolutely no idea what they are doing wrong and so they can’t change.
All they get is a vague message that the video contravened the community Guidelines, of which there are many.
2. The appeal process is flawed, seems to be an AI and unreliable.
Worse yet, is that since Youtube has network effects and a monopoly of sorts there are no real viable alternatives, and so if it happens to you , your business is gone.
One of our partners and member of our group of companies , @FefeDemeny has a channel called the 100x club.
He comes from a humble background!
He is hardworking, ambitious and makes great content.
He built a business from his garage, started from zero and was just getting momentum.
Recently his channel has been under attack by the Youtube algorithm, he received warnings and strikes and despite all the strikes being removed on appeal - today his channel was removed permanently!
The worst part is that he has no idea why.
He has become really conservative with his content, he follows all the known guidelines, he follows all the processes and he still received the strikes.
Now he cannot make content for a week and his ability to keep funding his business is impaired.
He, like many others in this industry, is a business creator with good intentions and great content.
We have made millions of hours of content on your platforms.
We have brought in Billions of dollars of ad revenue.
Despite this our businesses are under threat constantly.
He is not the only one. It’s happening daily to creators in our industry and we have no idea why.
At this point it is clear that there is an issue with your flagging software.
It seems like a setting is too sensitive.
And this issue is costing honest people their businesses and their livelihoods.
We are not asking for any favorable treatment or for you to change any rules,
All we are asking for is clarity.
We want to understand why some channels are randomly getting strikes so we can understand and comply.
We would also appreciate it if you could review your algorithm as it may be set to sensitive or it may be picking up false positives.
As a monopoly of sort you have a duty to ensure that you are fair to all creators, the same creators that build your business.
We would appreciate a real response for a real human, someone with real power and some action that can assist us in maintaining our businesses that we have worked so hard to build.
I write this on behalf of many creators.
I look forward to a response.
If you want to help creators, please share this far and wide. You are helping save people’s businesses.

I heard someone today say “we shouldn’t pretend Tornado Cash isn’t used for illicit purposes”.
I don’t pretend Tornado Cash is used for one thing or another - it’s none of my business what people use software for. It’s also not anyone else’s business what anyone does with their money.
It’s not “illicit” to move money. Moving money is not a legitimate crime.
ALL surveillance and control, all AML KYC and all violations of privacy are completely unethical, immoral and illegitimate.
All of them.
We have to go along with this because the tyrants pushing these horrible things have guns - but none of it has any place in a free society.
Moving money and having privacy is not a legit crime. There is no victim.
If someone moves money for a purpose that is in violation of a legitimate law then the law enforcement can chase them for that legitimate crime. (A legitimate law is a crime against someone’s life, body or property. It has an a direct clear victim. No other laws are legitimate or ethical.)
It’s wrong to treat the whole world as criminal suspects and to force draconian regulations on everyone. It’s wrong to threaten, fine or jail people for paperwork or other made up violations which harm no one.
This is all a very new and very bad idea.
Almost none of this existed only 30 years ago.
For most of human history the idea that thug tyrants in high offices had the right to visibility to who owns what and where and how it’s transferred would have been considered absurd.
Even some of the most totalitarian regimes did not have as tight of financial controls as we have now.
People didn’t even need an ID to buy stocks until the 90s.
The tyrants have made people lose the plot and think that privacy or moving money without filing out some forms is a “crime”.
This entire thing should be scrapped. There’s no legitimate case for this. Money should be able to move freely.
“I see you deposited $8000. We need to know where it came from.”
“I see you are withdrawing $3400 cash to buy a rare Magic the Gathering card…not so fast, we need some forms.”
Gets out of here.
Totally immoral. Unethical. No one should support this.
We need to fight much harder - not just for cases like Roman — but at a bigger picture level.
Every conversation with every politician and regulator should note that ALL regs related to KYC and AML are illegitimate, anti business, anti freedom and a human rights violation. All should be scrapped.
“But Bruce what about the terrrorrooorrrrrrrists and the child traffickers 😭 think of the children!”
That’s the problem of the terrorists and traffickers - chase them. Don’t treat the other 4 billion of us like criminals. Don’t grind down the wheels of the global economy and create friction on a trillion transactions — go do some police work. Not my problem. Money movement should be free.
Privacy is a human right.

The last 24 hours have been turbulent for the @MANTRA_Chain community following the sharp price drop of the $OM token.
Let’s set the record straight:
✅ No tokens were sold by Shorooq funds, founding partners or MANTRA teams during the crash
❌ There was no exploit—on-chain data confirms a large forced liquidation was the trigger
📉 The cascade happened in low-liquidity hours, leading to panic sell-offs
As long-term equity investors in MANTRA, our conviction hasn’t wavered. We're here for the mission: enabling regulated real-world asset tokenization on-chain.
Transparency matters. Accountability matters. And we're committed to both. We have also added our wallets for full transparency.
