We would find the silver linings, but we would be lying to ourselves. Micah had a similar price at 26 years old and was/is the top player at a more impactful position, and it was up for debate if the price was too high or not. Good for the Bears, but the Packers are in no position to be mortgaging the future on a guy like Simmons right now.

The only reason I left LB off is because the future at LB is in good hands. Those other positions need help now and the future is questionable at best.

No question the group is very strong with Sweat in it, but the OL is bad and has no future stability on the horizon. Those assets you would allocate to Sweat would go towards more than one player on the OL. Are you trading two potential solutions on the OL for one more pass rusher with the way the OL looks right now?

Rhyan isn't even the biggest problem. RG is still a huge question mark. They can't keep living under the Banks contract so I'd expect them to do something with him in the offseason, which means LG is a question mark. Even the tackle spots aren't totally settled. The future of this OL needs a stability piece to build around and they don't have it.

True but how much better is Sweat than DDS right now? Premium pick(s) + significant cap hit for Sweat seems unnecessary when you've got the OL needing immediate and long term help.

This just doesn't feel like the move anymore. You can only make so many moves. Pass rush is doing ok with Parsons coming back soon. OL, RB, DL would be more impactful at this point.
