Leave aside other arguments, did Alexander have India or South Asia in mind? Did Columbus want to find a route to India or South Asia? Why were the natives of America called Red Indians and not Red South Asians? Why did the British set up the East India company and not the South Asian company? Why was it British India and not British South Asia? East Indies and West Indies? Why is it called the Indian Ocean not the South Asian Ocean?

I’m Pakistani in the sense my parents nationality is Pakistan but I’m not obsessed with 3,000 year old feuds like you fobs and tribal people are. I only have an American passport and an American mentality.

Its alright if you're not smart enough to understand that a community naturally celebrates their "own" representation in the imperial administration, its not the "democratic principle" of "minority representation" we are celebrating here which you trying to universalise (get your head out of the liberal-democratic order), we are celebrating the end (our representation) regardless of any means (democracy etc), the latter is accidental. The vice versa principle cannot be universally applied everywhere, for everyone, our interests, our ideals & our rights take precedence over those of others, equal prophetic justice for all even against ourselves, but prioritisation for our own.

I am honestly stunned by Pakistan's global success Like Naxals, Pakistan has managed to turn its weakness into its biggest strength London, New York, Michigan... Even Palestinians in the Israeli parliament have their own independent political parties that have deadlocked all the blocs from forming a government. Indian Muslims do not. IMs are much more politically captive within Hindu system. Nobody wants to have this conversation.

But none of that excuses poor grooming or sloppy dressing, especially when welcoming a foreign dignitary. Wearing a Kurta, ugly sandal exposing his dirty toes, unshaven. Even third grade Pakistani bureaucrat dresses better. Why is it so difficult for our ministers and bureaucrats to appreciate that how you present yourself is also a reflection of the country you represent? And this goes well beyond government. Visit universities, offices and professional gatherings across the West, and you will occasionally see the same lack of attention to grooming and presentation among Indian students and professionals. This isn’t about expensive clothes, designer labels or wearing Western suits. A simple, well-fitted outfit can look exceptionally elegant. It is about making an effort, respecting the occasion and showing consideration for your guests. India must introduce and strictly enforce a formal dress and grooming code for ministers, bureaucrats and officials representing the country, particularly during diplomatic engagements and ceremonial occasions. Clear standards of attire, personal grooming and protocol should be non-negotiable. Representing the Republic of India is a privilege, and that privilege comes with responsibilities. @MEAIndia @PMOIndia Being humble is admirable. Looking shabby is not a virtue. India is increasingly commanding respect on the global stage. Our standards of personal presentation should reflect that ambition. Dress for the occasion. Respect your guests. Represent your country with dignity.

My unpopular opinion is that India, Pakistan and Bangladesh should unite to form a secular and socialist state.
