As an Autistic kid, I felt more mature than my peers. As an Autistic adult, I now feel less mature than my peers. Whilst I’ve developed, I’ve not transformed, yet the standard for maturity has shifted. As a kid, it was not calling people names. As an adult, it’s buying a home.
I think one of my fave concepts is the straight attractiveness scale vs the queer attractiveness scale(s). Like I'm a straight 6.5 but a queer 8, y'know?

Bro. Idek, fb is where the action is. Man that's the only fckin platform for ALL the generations to be interacting in the comments on shit like cousin Eddie's barbecue pics from 2009 AND THEN jump straight to some post-capitalist gen-z memes.
Nerd (and maybe neurodivergent*) Tangent: It is so terrifying and powerful and COOL to watch kids come of age in this age of tech. And to see a truly globally documented and connected several decades... Watching social media get old is

someone said that it’s so hard to distinguish trauma from Autism because our current society is not able to produce an Autistic person who isn’t traumatized in some form and i really think we should talk more about that because wow

Growing up as an autistic child is being seen as irritating, because your behaviours frustrate adults but aren’t technically “bad”. You ask questions and talk back, but you don’t fight, steal or lie. Your behaviour falls short of naughty, but is irksome, so seen as naughty-lite.
