The ACC, SEC, Big XII and B1G have all had teams lose playoff games by bigger spreads than Tulane or JMU last night. But no one batted an eye and said those conferences don’t belong.
The Derby just isn’t as entertaining because they don’t take time to let moments breathe. It was last night and I don’t remember a single homerun that happened.
That said, I get that the Derby doesn’t need to last 3+ hours.
Here’s my idea…
Every year around the date of my birth, my family will meet for a dinner, buy me gifts, and sing a song in celebration.
We call it my “Birthday Anniversary.”
If a pitcher comes in during the bottom of the 7th. His team is winning by 4 and he inherited bases loaded.
He gives up two of the inherited runs, but then shuts the opposing team out for the remainder of the game.
Is that a save?
I was just at a Little League game today. A fan yelled, “infield fly” when there were no runners on base. And I was thinking about how people don’t understand the rule.
