The issue (for me) was never merely the existence of AI. It was what I always assumed people were going to do with it.
Low effort. Quick releases. Flooding the market with ideas that are bland, and uninspired ... or in this case, a whole fucking wall of clones.
THIS, @TimSweeneyEpic , is why the AI disclosure exists.
AI lowered the bar to access into art, and game development, it didn't grant you the skills to become an artist or a developer, those you still have to get yourself.
You can dream about what AI might achieve, maybe one day. But it's not there yet. I'd advise stop trying to force it onto the entire world until it's ready.
Meanwhile, people are still people. And this is what they do when they get access to something new.
Last thing I'll say about the BioWare shutdown, on the off chance that there's still hope of Mass Effect being saved...
We have sat back and watched the mindless corporate mindset of reckless pursuit of short term profits absolutely destroy the artistic foundation of everything. Games. Movies. TV.
These stories are so much to us, and they were once truly magnificent. I myself am a game developer, and Mass Effect is one of the ones i always cite as one of my larger inspirations.
I have always called Mass Effect "the best science fiction story ever told".
It has a future, You just have to allow it. Mass Effect has a massively loyal fanbase. Forgetting us was where you went wrong. Remembering us is how you come back. Your move. @EA
