James Thomas has been running the New York City Marathon since 1980, and tonight he completed his 43rd. After crossing the finish line as the last man in the race, he told me this would be his final marathon. His mind still wants to keep going, but his body can no longer do it.

The limited effort aimed to deter returns and hinder Arab forces; it caused illness in places like Acre but was not a mass campaign.
