Thank you @DCDPR for a great set of neighborly activities in Bruce Monroe Community Park as part of @OpenStreetsDC!
For the 5th week in a row, thanks to @DCDPR for bringing the fun to our beloved park, Bruce Monroe. The fun wagon is here!
For the fourth week in a row, @DCDPR is sponsoring a community event at Bruce Monroe Park. Why on earth would @BrianneKNadeau want to rob the community of our ability to hold these events by building a 9-story-plus-penthouse tower on top of this park???
For the third week in a row, the public enjoyed the DPR bouncy castles and community event at Bruce Monroe Community Park.
Another beautiful day of the community enjoying the functions of Bruce Monroe Park. Thanks. @DCDPR for the community event!
A beautiful day for a DPR-sponsored community activity in the open space of the Bruce Monroe Community Park!
Another day of the community loving Bruce Monroe park. Here's an idea: Don't destroy it to build a 9-story-plus-penthouse tower.
Another beautiful day, another gathering in Bruce Monroe Community Park that @BrianneKNadeau is fully willing to destroy in pursuit of a penthouse tower. The community is fighting back.
Veteran William Robinson sees kids crying when their Bruce Monroe Park jungle gym has not been repaired for over 6 months. This is an easy opportunity for @MayorBowser and other government officials to help local kids and families.
Another beautiful day, another day of community members enjoying Bruce Monroe Community Park.
Here's an idea: DC should not destroy this park.
Today, Howard University students congregated in Bruce Monroe Community Park for an end of the year event. They were shocked to learn that the District could let developers replace this park with a 9-story-plus-penthouse tower.
Here a student describes the event:
With the beautiful weather, here is a reminder that nearly every sunny day, kids are brought to Bruce Monroe Community Park by child care instructors to get exercise. This park is a community gem.
Another day of backed up traffic at Irving and Georgia, NW - exactly where big developers want to build a 9-story-plus-penthouse tower and flood this small street with hundreds of new cars. Imagine being in an ambulance in the back on the way to Children's National Hospital?
This is the backed up traffic at Georgia and Irving right now. Can you imagine hundreds of new cars flooding out onto this street if developers build a 9-story-plus-penthouse tower right here? Imaging being in an ambulance in the back...
Why did @BrianneKNadeau lose her mandate with less than 50% of the vote in the Democratic primary? Maybe it's because she wants to privatize public land, take away community centerpieces for residents in Ward 1, and allow enrich developers by building penthouse towers here.
FYI @BrianneKNadeau refuses to say why she supports putting a flood of hundreds of new cars directly on the small street ambulances use to take kids to Children's Hospital -- without so much as an impact study. Especially in these times, kids facing emergency deserve better.
Today, @BrianneKNadeau actively campaigned on destroying and gentrifying this park widely used by our diverse community. Instead of proposing real investment in affordable housing, she proposes privatization -- pitting parks vs housing. Unacceptable.
