A sharia court has been launched in Padova, Italy. Padova has been a famous European center for law studies since the University of Padova and its School of Law were founded in 1222. A lawyer named Omar Vanin has now launched “The Italian Islamic Arbitration Chamber” in the city. It is meant to serve Muslims in Italy who want to resolve civil and commercial disputes according to the principles of Muslim law. A debate has started in Italy about whether it should be viewed as just an innocent case of private arbitration or as the first step towards a parallel justice system in Italy. The Padova Prosecutor's Office doesn’t like what it’s seeing and has launched an investigation.

Shocking new figures from Germany reveal that 358 child marriages have been recorded in the state of Baden-Württemberg since April 2012, many involving individuals from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Despite hundreds of documented cases, only eight marriages have been formally annulled, and authorities confirmed that no annulment proceedings are currently underway.
